    Day 1 – Arthur’s Journey

Dear diary, it has only been about twelve hours or so since I filled my last book to the brim with the stories from our Nether world adventures, and yet so much has happened. I’d rather not keep you waiting too long before I jump back in, as I’m sure you’re itching to get back to the story, but I (as always) have a couple of things I’d like to preface my diary with. My last entry ended on such an exciting note, didn’t it? The anticipation must be absolutely deafening! I can’t wait to read back through it in a year. Both of my friends seeing their fathers for the first time in at least a decade is one thing, but to have them battling with swords and spears right in front of us is something even I’m having a little trouble processing! Luckily it all was fine in the end, right? Or did it, with tensions at an all-time high? Oh, well, I guess you wouldn’t know that yet. I still haven’t told the story! Without further ado, I’ll get right into it.

Oh, and do you remember how Joey surprised us all with his knowledge of Storm Magic? I guess he isn’t a fighter, but instead a highly-skilled healer! Once everything worked itself out, he was showing us a few other spells he had learned. He told us he didn’t like any of the ones that caused people harm, but he learned all the ones that would heal people or make other people stronger! This one spell called Storm Shield makes it so anything that touches you turns into pure electricity. It takes all that energy and puts it straight into your body, keeping you awake and making you vastly more hyper. Exciting, right? He cast it on Wendy, and when he threw an Apple at her, her eyes widened instantly. It was like she’d just drank an entire coffee! I could use that instead of my morning walk to go and get a coffee from the cafe. It’s such a long walk, especially from the Nether!

Okay, I apologize for the tangent. Now I’ll tell you about how Stan and Roger stopped fighting:

After Wendy ran out from behind the table, where we were all hiding and called out her father’s name, Stan dropped his sword. Of course, Roger, being the man of morals that he is, did not use it as an opportunity. Instead, he laid his sword down too, and retreated until he was behind the table with the rest of us. He wanted to give the two some space.

Hi, guys. Did I miss much back here? Roger asked.

Not much, Dad. Did you know about Stan? Oh, and this is Ed, by the way, Joey was talking very quickly. I’m sure the charm of having his father around hadn’t worn off just yet, and Wendy’s was just getting started.

Hi there. How are you doing on this fine morning? Ed asked in his most formal manner. Steph is too shy to come over here because of the battle that was just happening, by the way. She thinks we’re enemies now or something.

Of course not!–Roger started talking, trying to reassure all of us who had just looked at him with the same question– I mean, you both are traitors to the throne and will have to be executed for conspiring with the only villain in my life, but enemies? No! Roger paused for a moment, looking around at all of our aghast faces.

Guess I’ll be going then! Ed’s eyes were as wide as Wendy’s during her rampage just a couple of days ago, but his smile remained. It was almost cartoonish.

Roger bellowed forth a hearty laugh and waved his hand. I’m joking! All of you are welcome in my great hall, even the literal traitor over there. After all, we’re former friends, Stan, and I...–Roger had seemed to recall something he was supposed to say– "To answer your question, Joey, I did. I knew about Stan, of course. I didn’t expect him to show up on my front doorstep with a blade in each hand only twelve hours after his daughter arrived, though! I was going to get to it eventually."

Why do you have such animosity towards each other? I asked.

Another subject for a later time, my friend. Let’s all hope this current situation sorts itself out first, shall we? Roger’s face turned more serious. He seemed to be worried about Wendy’s conversation with her father, but it wasn’t clear for who he furrowed his brow for.

We all peered out over the table again, as Ed joined us in hiding behind it. The table had gone from a shield, protecting us, to an awkward wall put up behind our friends. That was, until finally we landed on the perfect way to eavesdrop on a conversation that we had no business listening to.

–I’m not ready to forgive you yet, and you shouldn’t expect me to. I’m not Joey, you know. It’s going to take some time and lots of explaining, Wendy was telling her father.

What’s that supposed to mean? Of course she isn’t me, I’m actually good at magic! Joey whispered to the group, stifling a laugh.

Joey! Dude! You do magic now? Ed hadn’t heard yet, apparently.

Yeah, Storm Magic. Believe it or not, I’m a healer! No more fighting for this guy. I’ve turned over a new leaf.

Wow, that’s really noble of you, Ed said, sharpening his sword against a rock as he spoke. I should really try that sometime. I hear it’s like going vegetarian: you just feel better about yourself.

Same concept, right? Joey asked, deep in thought.

    True.

Roger and I shared a knowing look. It was a relief to have someone as old as me around. Though, we still had our differences. Roger was more confrontational than me, apparently.

Listen, lads. I’m trying to be nosy and eavesdrop on a touching reunion between father and daughter. Sadly, I can’t do that if I end up accidentally eavesdropping instead on one of the dumbest conversations I’ve ever heard! Pull yourself together! Roger remarked.

Joey and Ed’s jaws dropped. They looked at me to back them up.

I shrugged my shoulders and looked back at Wendy talking with her father. I could feel watery gazes on my neck as the children realized they finally had adult supervision again. I understood them, of course. That definitely wasn’t how I would have handled the situation. Nonetheless, it was too hilarious of a situation to intervene.

Wendy and Stan were embracing each other when I turned my attention back towards them. The hole in the wall where Stan had entered with Steph and Ed in tow, was acting like a wind tunnel for the movement of air outside the walls. It caused the ambient light in the room to fluctuate from the torches on the wall, and it made us feel as if the entire world was flickering! It stopped us from seeing the special moment between reunited father and daughter unfold. The privacy is probably for the best though.

I love you, Stan tried to speak quietly, but his voice carried.

We strained our ears, begging Wendy to repeat the sentiment. Ed has told us now that he could’ve sworn, he saw Wendy’s mouth move, but none of us could hear anything. After a moment, the wind died down, the torches stopped flickering, and the father-daughter duo were no longer joined at the hip. Wendy and Stan walked towards the table we were all ducked behind, hoping that we all didn’t see a thing.

    Day 2 – Arthur’s Journey

Joey smiled and his mouth gaped. He made eye contact with Wendy while pointing at Stan, as if to ask, did you see him? Wendy nodded, and her mouth cracked open into a similarly ecstatic grin, if only for a second.

Later, she whispered to him as she passed by. Wendy and her father were walking directly towards Roger, who had backed up past the table and was having a hushed conversation with Vincent, the Piglin whom he seemed very close to.

Roger! This isn’t finished! Stan yelled to him.

Ed and I both were blinded by the light reflecting off of Stan’s clean steel. Our eyes widened when we realized from where that had originated, his sword.

Does Roger have his sword? Ed whispered to me.

I don’t think so… I trailed off, looking at the center of the room. It’s still where he dropped it, right? Wait, where did–

My eyes fell on Wendy’s hands. In them, there wasn’t the normal glimmering diamond sword, or even the rough and prismatic wand. Instead, she was lugging around with both hands the massive iron broadsword of her father’s enemy.

Wendy! We yelled to her. Not to our surprise, she clearly wasn’t listening.

Ember! She yelled. The iron sword was enveloped in flame.

    Roger finally turned to look.

    "Stan,
