Acknowledgement
This book would not have been possible without the encouragement and love of my wife, Valli and daughter, Nithilla. More than anyone, they kept motivating me to pen my thoughts and look for publication opportunities. Special thanks to my loving sister, Wasugi, for her constant guidance and love throughout my life even if she had settled in the Netherlands for the last three decades. Special gratitude is also due to my mother and sisters in Singapore for their love and patience throughout my life. Finally, I owe a debt of gratitude to Austin Macauley Publishers for their faith in my work and publishing it.
A Woman for All Seasons
A woman for all seasons all my life
That’s you, only you.
You are the autumnal lips
That dances to the rhythm of the breeze
Like the trees paying homage to the arrival of autumn by Flooding the earth with their leaves,
Only upon seeing you will my soul be at peace.
So protective are you of me
Of the coming winter when life will be bleak and empty,
That you descent from heaven to earth to be with me.
Winter is sadness
Winter is darkness
Winter is lonely
But you enliven me with your embrace that is so heavenly.
Spring brings to the forefront your flourishing blooms
To clear the receding winter gloom.
A gloom when I always momentarily lose my sight
Only for you to move me away from the canopy of winter white
To regain my sight
To enjoy the hue of colours
That the earth offers.
Life returns to earth in spring
Lights and colours return to ecstasy on brink
And you are unfailingly there, with a smile on brim
Year after year, spring after spring.
Spring earth gently drowns in colours
And once again, our spring romance begins in earnest
In preparation for our summer love.
Summer comes
And summer love returns
When you make me loved, the affection my heart always yearns
Year after year, summer after summer.
Summer returns me to the zenith of my life
To the zenith of love
The zenith that is you
My Angel, My Lover, My confidant.
Summer heat wands its magic on all meadows
Summer affirms my deep love for you that never mellows.
Autumn, winter, spring, summer
White, grey, blue, red, yellow, orange
Sadness, darkness, gay
They do not matter to me
As long you are with me.
The angel of my life
The lover of life
The confidant of my life
The Woman for All
