As Christina Aguilera said:
"Makes me that much stronger
Makes me work a little bit harder
It makes me that much wiser
So thanks for making me a fighter
Made me learn a little bit faster
Made my skin a little bit thicker
Makes me that much smarter
So thanks for making me a fighter"

This is a work of fiction. The facts and characters reported here were
created from imagination. Any
resemblance to reality is a mere
coincidence...
(or not...)

It was so many things that I don’t even know where I could start…
So, let’s start at the beginning…
***
When you passed through that door, I didn’t understand anything. You were with Toby, and I thought he was your boyfriend. I was working at my reception as always, and I don’t know why you just started asking me a bunch of questions. I remember you passing through the reception table and standing beside me, asking me why I was wearing gloves, why I was charging you a tax, and where your room was. And it was so funny because you were so excited and touching my arms, and Toby was behind you trying to contain you, however, he wasn’t so sure if he should do it or not.

I remember I checked you guys in, showed you the room, and went to do my stuff. That night I would sleep in the hotel because I couldn’t go home due to the storm outside, and by luck, I had a private room available for me.
The next morning it was even more fun. I opened the door of my room beside the reception, at seven-thirty, and to my surprise you were there, sitting on the reception couch, totally waking up, and trying to find your room.
I remember you asked me: I don’t know where my room is
, and believe me, inside my mind, I counted to a thousand holding myself to not say It is here
and pointing with my head in the direction of the bed. I swear. I counted to a thousand and I real y wish to say that. But of course, I couldn’t because I wasn’t sure if Robin was your boyfriend or not, and also because I was just waking up, so, I didn’t have brushed my teeth yet and my face was totally wrecked, despite the fact that today it is clear that was what you wanted.
Maybe if I had said it, we would have had our first moment together that morning.

The storm stopped and I final y could get the train to go home, and during the whole trip, I was thinking if I should send you a message or not. I found you on Instagram, and looking at your pictures it wasn’t clear enough if Toby was your boyfriend or just a friend. When I arrived home I decided to do it. I shouldn’t, but I did. I started with a smooth approach, with a friendly conversation, and to my surprise, your response was much more positive than I could even imagine.
When you told me Toby was just your friend, and in the beginning, you were planning to make the trip to Madrid alone, I decided to make a move on you. And you told me you regret to have accepted his company to come to Madrid with you because if you had come alone we could have gone out since the first day we met each other.
We started to exchange messages more and more often. You were sending me messages every morning as a good morning, every afternoon after finishing your shift, checking your phone during your volleyball practice, and sending me messages for a good night.
