    Be a sun

When someone greets us we accept the greeting happily; but we do not consider it as a rare honour and so we move forward taking it as an ordinary incident.

When someone praises us we are highly elated and our mind bubbles with happiness. We share their encomiums with our friends and well-wishers. At the same time we do not think of doing something good to them in return to their encomiums.

What do we do at the same time to the person who turns angry at us, speaks ill of us, ridicules, blames or depresses us?

We also get angry, our person shivers with high emotion and we get enraged and devise plans to take revenge on him. We spend whole of our time in thinking of such unpleasant experiences.

Let us now think a little over such experiences. We forget about the greetings and encomiums soon after we receive them; but why do we carry on in our minds the unpleasant experiences?

We keep in our minds fresh for days on end, sometimes for several months and years the reproach that a person threw at us in a moment one day. Because of this we suffer sleepless nights and physical disabilities such as ulcer and blood pressure and also psychopathic problems. Some people resort to violent activities and go to police stations and law courts.

How could it be correct if we suffer pains for thousand times and million times for a single instance of our painful instance?

Will the injury caused by the tongue never heal?

It will surely heal; but we should not allow such tantalizing words to enter deep into our minds, take roots in them and then grow into bushes and trees. So we should not allow our bitter experiences to enter our minds. If we do not accept them and do not give weight to them they will disappear like bubbles.

As we say no firmly to a shopkeeper when he tries to sell to us some items which we are not in need of we should very firmly return the words of rebuke.

To put in short, be a sun. The sun does not suffer anything if dogs bark at it.

The light that drives away darkness

Can you believe that a motion picture released in 1994 is still in the first place of IMDb rating (Internet Movie Database)?

    Yes; it is true.

The Shawshank Redemption is the film which has achieved such a great distinction. This movie, which is a slow moving one, did not win great acclaim when it was released; nor did it turn out to be a successful film. But later when the concentration of good ideas embedded in the film caught the attention of the people it started getting the appreciation of the general
