Pooja Subramanian was brought up in Kerala (better known as "God's Own Country"), in India. She did her Engineering from Government Engineering College Thrissur, and her Masters in Management from the Indian Institute of Management Lucknow. She finished writing her first book "Twigs Entwined" in 2018, and it was published by Partridge Singapore in May, 2020. She has Specialist Diploma in Counselling Psychology & Children and Youth Counselling and Management. She started Rainbow Kiddies in 2022. It is an initiative for children and aims to help in nurturing emotionally healthy children. She loves to travel, read, write, day dream, spend time with her daughter, go on dates with her husband and have beautiful conversations with her parents. She looks forward to sharing more stories, reading a lot more and making the most of her tenure on this planet.

    My Pet Merlion

    Emma woke up in the morning and smiled at her own reflection in the mirror.

    Beautiful morning Emma baby.

    What could be a better way to start a happy morning than acknowledge it yourself?

    She got out of her bed, stretched her little hands, and ran to her mom. Mom was busy in the kitchen. She hugged her tightly around her waist and squeezed her just enough to share her new morning love and adoration.

    Her Mom patted her little hands with love, turned around to see her cute little rising face and returned the hug. Emma was full of energy now.

    What did you make for breakfast today?

    Mom pinched her nose slightly and said, Some banana pancakes for you my little bunny, and a carrot to go with it.

    Emma ran into the bathroom to wash her face and mouth. A quick wash and there she was at the table to eat her favorite breakfast. She gobbled up all the pancakes in no time. Then she set out to the balcony with her little carrot. Before starting on the carrot, she had to sing a song for the birds and plants in the balcony.

    "Good morning little birdies, sing along with me.

    Good morning little plants, filled your little tummies yet?

    Mine is almost full, with a little space for one small carrot.

    Good morning once more friends, rise and shine with me."

    Mom answered from inside, I have not watered the plants yet. Please help me once you are done with your carrot.
