About this ebook

The Bible Is Applicable! is a Bible study designed to help grandchildren, those young in Christ, or anyone become more comfortable and less intimidated in using it and understand that it is the life instruction manual given to us by God. Everything we need to know for successful living, relationships, and family is in it. Where the Old Testament gives our history and prophecies to be fulfilled hundreds of years later and demonstrates the importance of obeying God and His continued faithfulness, the New Testament conveys the life and times of Jesus and His instruction for living today. What is so wonderful is that the God of the Old Testament is the same God we have today. It is hoped that by taking this journey, one will gain some familiarity with the Bible, increase knowledge about the characteristics of our God, and develop a passion for Him and His Word.

    Bible Study for Grandchildren

Istarted writing this Bible study for my grandchildren with hopes that they would become more familiar with the Bible and more comfortable using it, and understand that it is the life instruction manual given to us by God. Everything we need is in it. Everything we need to know for successful living and relationships and families is in it. This Bible study is intended to give an overview and introduction but does not, by any means, encompass everything. However, by taking this journey, it is my hope that you will gain some familiarity with the Bible, increase your knowledge about God, and develop a passion for Him and His Word.

It should be noted that the scriptures used in each section are in the order in which they are in the Bible, to increase your knowledge of which books come before others and which are in the Old Testament versus the New Testament. For reference, the books of the Old Testament were written between 1900 and 165 BC, and the books of the New Testament were written between AD 33 and 95. The Old Testament gives us our history, prophecies to be fulfilled hundreds of years later, demonstrates the importance of obeying God, and His continued faithfulness. The New Testament conveys the life and times of Jesus and His instruction for living today. It tells of His dying on the cross as the ultimate sacrifice for our sins, defying and overcoming death for us, and resurrecting three days later, all so that we may live with Him eternally in heaven if we only believe in Him as the one and only living God, superior to all. Because of His death and resurrection, we no longer need to live by the sacrificial laws of the Old Testament. Jesus allowed for us, each of us, to enter into His holiest place and have an intimate, close, and personal relationship with Him. What is so wonderful is that the God of the Old Testament is the same God we have today! It is my hope that you will be touched by this study and further your relationship with Him.

    Sovereignty of the Lord

We have always heard that God is big, that God rules all, but what does that exactly mean? How big is big? Is there anything bigger with greater rule? Well, let's start our exploration of the Bible with the sovereignty of the Lord and explore the ways in which God is sovereign. Sovereignty means supreme power and authority. Read Genesis 1:1–31. (This means the book of Genesis, first chapter, verses 1 through 31.) Note : Also, when God is referred to, or the Bible, it is always using a capital letter.

List all the things that God created and did on each of the days.
