An incredible machine now exists, that can record your favorite tv shows, movies and/or sporting events. No longer will you have to worry about missing your favorite program! You can record it, using the amazing, the astounding, the astonishing Betamax! I have one at home and I wonder how I ever lived without one! It’s as easy to operate as your tape recorder! If you can push a button, you can use a Betamax! Demonstrations are free! And we have a wide selection of your favorite movies on Beta cartridges, no different from the tapes you use for your tape recorder! I loved this guy.
I was standing at the ass-end of a long line-up of maybe a hundred people.
It was May, it was warm and everybody around the country wanted to get their hands on this new-fangled contraption called a Betamax.
I didn’t have much patience for long line-ups, but I was fed up with coming home from a long day of saving the world, too late for that day’s episode of Star Trek.
It’s hard to believe now, millennials, but back in the swinging seventies, guys like me didn’t advertise that they watched Star Trek.
Most of us were very much in the closet.
Speaking of advertising, how’s this for a segue-way, I thought Vic, the man with the bullhorn, was a black belt level master of showmanship.
