Another big thanks to my husband, who still endures my reading of cat poetry to him, and to all who waited patiently for this sequel.

And, of course, to my kitties Socks and Elsa.

    About these poems (Read first):

In this collection, you will be introduced to many cats: my two pretties, Socks and Elsa, and a selection of anonymous unnamed cats. When you see the **, this signals the end of a poem and that cat’s point of view. Each poem starts fresh with a new story from a different feline perspective.

Socks desires many playthings and fragrances, characteristics ingrained in his purr-sonality. As you delve deeper, you’ll observe the subtle tension that arises concerning the coveted cardboard boxes, adding an extra layer of intrigue towards the collection’s conclusion − a true cat-tastrophe in the making.

    Author’s Note

    Anonymous Cat #23:

    Snag them, snag them,

    one and all!

    After ear

    in trash they fall

    where I greet them,

    their wax ends:

    in the middle

    I make bends!

    I drop in shoes

    through the room

    and even socks—

    most that loom.

    My human,

    who says, Ick!,

    puts Q-tips

    in bags, so slick.

    He doesn’t know

    that that’s okay—

    I’ll take those bags

    to shred and play!**

    Anonymous Cat #15:

    My human passes time

    reading a book;

    not paying me attention—

    I am so shook.

    While she’s hooked on fiction

    I try to mew

    but alas no response—

    I intend to get through.

    Jumping into her lap

    I bite into the book

    and run off with it

    like a good little crook.

    She chases after

    shouting all kinds of names

I release it on the bed—
