About this ebook

We are accustomed to approaching and relating to spirituality in ways that are altogether too limited and exclusive, oftentimes confining awakeness to a certain state or experience. In this book, the author points us back to the reality that while we seek presence or wholeness, there really is no escaping it, for there is only that, appearing as everything. While we search for the "golden carrot" out there, the "needle in the haystack", this book reminds us that the whole "haystack" is it, and "out there" can be nowhere else but here.

When we stop looking elsewhere for God, God will be revealed to be everything. When the changing, evolving, relative world is seen as the pulsing of divinity, it takes on a whole new dimension. There is Only Isness uncovers this fundamental dimension that can never not be present in each and every moment, and explores how the relative and absolute domains of spiritual perception actually exist as one.

The fact of our beingness is aliveness, an ongoing activity. Recognizing this effortless flow and 'partaking of' this undying engine is what it means to actually be an embodiment of living awakeness. Fion presents here the workings of the ego mind, how it preserves its 'fuel', and guides the reader to discover a depth and profundity of being, intrinsic freedom and an orientational gear that naturally expresses one's truth and sovereignty.

    INTRODUCTION

    In subtle or not so subtle ways, we, or the human mind, have this tendency of splitting the world up. Getting lost in the various minutiae and our tight definitions for each component, declaring: This contains what I’m looking. This is ‘wrong’ and ‘shouldn’t be here’. This is it. This is not it.

    And in searching for the things humans search for - wellbeing, happiness, freedom, wholeness, peace, enlightenment or whatever it is, in this orientation of ‘split-ness’, what we get is also the ‘split version’ (or ‘not’ version) of what we’re seeking.

    That which is, that which is whole, is reality, the fundamental nature underpinning all forms, all appearances. The invitation is to consider that there isn’t some other experience to have that will somehow bring you ‘closer’ to reality or in touch with the ground, the beingness of all.

    It is without a doubt that we have our preferences with regard to the world of form and phenomena. Nevertheless, this absolute reality, this luminous ground is in fact all inclusive. It leaves nothing out. It shines as everything. It’s the underlying ‘motor’ of all emanations, all appearances, all phenomena. It streams forth as all moments, as all that is encountered, as every aspect of experience.

    This fact is missed, however, because humans at large give all their power to the movement of mind. We’ve given allegiance to the ‘noise’ of mind, not to the nature of mind - these are two different features of mind, of the human experience. Most people believe that if a thought arises it must be true and so they act on it, either by following it into an imaginary future or by getting rid of the perceived ‘problem’ that led to this thought, or go into reactivity, repression, suppression, or some mental acrobatics of trying to change, fix, resolve, what have you. Giving allegiance to the movement of mind is like chasing the waves on the ocean - it’s exhausting, disempowering, even insane, and doesn’t actually lead to what we’re really looking for.

    Truth cannot be found in the ever-changing appearances of the surface waves. Only by penetrating into the ‘deeper element’, or shall I say, being penetrated by it, can we know the wisdom of our innate wholeness – the one seamless, edge-less ocean of is-ness.

    By recognizing that the ocean contains the wave but is not limited by the wave, we also recognize that beingness contains thought but is not limited by thought. This realization changes how we relate to the perceptual world - it stops being the source of incessant suffering and becomes the doorway to the prime radiant.

    In awakening out of the dream of separation, the mind of course continues to function in practical, functional, intelligent and creative ways in this three-dimensional world. But it has ceased being the ‘house-er’ of identity, or the tyrannical dictator that puts you or others down and demands that you chase the golden carrot ‘out there’.

    When we live ‘right-side-up’, with the One Being at the helm so to speak, when we meet life as openness, mind comes down off its pedestal and comes into right relationship with the totality.

    Words can be evocative and can serve as an invitation for one to look and see what is here, explore and discover its nature. They are a pointing to a substantial recognition or experiential sense beyond mere conceptualization and philosophization. And so the words written here are that - an invitation, strategic pointers or sign posts towards embodiment of the orientation or gear of prime singularity, where true empowerment and nourishment lie. Needless to say, the ‘real teacher’ is your experience itself, life itself.

    The flower of awakening is natural. When the roots go deep into the mud - when you have come out of infantilization and ceased going into knee-jerk rejection, lashing out and escapism, when you have ended the argument with life, when you have bowed down to love’s intelligence, when you’re willing to die in the midst of what hurts - then the light of awakeness can penetrate all the way through your mind to your heart to your belly, and into the very fabric of your living reality.

    1: EXISTENCE IS

    Isness = Integrativeness = Goodness

    Isness = exIStence. What exists, can never go outside isness/existence. Something that exist, IS, timelessly, eternally.

    You exist, thus can never not is.

    Being a part of IS, you are entitled to all the goodness contained in IS (inherent deservability/your ‘birthright’).

    Your existence itself is your membership card to all the ‘amenities’ and ‘offerings’ of goodness.

    Isness is entitled to isness (goodness, wholeness).

    Now, why does notness (not valid, not whole, not worthy) not feel good? Because it is in IS where good lies.

    Notness (non-existence) is not compatible/congruent/in correspondence with isness (existence). This discordance is what translates to no-good feeling.

    Notness is untruth, because isness is reality. What is not true is painful, as an indicator/signal that you’re out of alignment with your truth or true nature, which is isness (existence).

    Isness can’t ever get outside isness (existence), because that would be not-isness (non-existence) and no longer isness. Just as how blue can’t ever get outside blueness, for that would be a different color (red, green, etc.) and no longer ‘blue’.

    As isness (or ‘member/extension’ of isness/goodness), you are ‘entitled’ to claim goodness.

    The sense of diminishment, unbelongingness/isolatedness (casted out) does not feel good, again, as an indicator that it is in misalignment with your truth/reality, which is undiminishable, irreducible isness and innate unquestionable belongingness. But of course, existence belongs no where else but here in existence, because non-existence/not-is-ness is that which belongs in non-existence. And you are NOT non-existence, which literally does NOT exist.

    Isness = ONE = Truth = Goodness.

    Not-isness = Two-ness (separation) = Untruth.

    The truth of reality is ONE. Separation doesn’t feel good, once again, as an indicator that it is out of alignment with truth. Untruth feels no good. Un-wholeness (un-one-ness) of course feels no good to the ONE, simply because that is not its nature, which, needless to say, obviously is ONE and whole.

    Two-ness will of course not feel good to ONE, for the simple reason that it’s incongruent with its nature. Just as how a square block will bump against a circular hole, creating incompatibility, discord, friction and pain. It does not fit. It does not jibe. The feeling sense is not good, for good lies in IS, in whole, in true nature.

    Isness deserves isness. Isness has the right to isness. Notness is the one that deserves notness. Notness is the one that has the right to notness. So, as isness (existence) yourself, side with isness (Your true nature). For it is in isness where goodness lies. You can say goodness is ‘contained’ in isness and not-good-ness is ‘quarantined’ in not-ness.

    Your ‘membership’ to isness is ‘choiceless’, unchangeable and ‘un-cancel-able’. You can’t do anything about it. Again, once existing, always has and always will. You can’t get out of Existence/Is-ing-ness even if you want to.

    You, as isness, desire the isness of good. Let’s say a certain career, relationship, or any other thing that represents or is an expression of ‘goodness’ for you. The isness of you is ‘attracted’ to the isness of these things, instead of the notness of those
