ALL UP IN YOUR BIZNESS: MANAGING YOUR BUSINESS CRAP
()
About this ebook
All up in Your Bizness is my first book (not counting my diary). Although I have written dozens of speeches, testimonials, newsletters, and talking points, they do not contain the wit and whimsy of this book. I have been employed for more than thirty years in several jobs, where I have seen hilarious shenanigans of the men and women who worked with me and the processes and programs that often befuddled us.
A labor of love and giggles, this book is to be enjoyed as a tongue-in-cheek look at many business circumstances, such as the interview, office kiss-ups, performance reviews, working from home, and working in the open office. Practical and useful advice is also provided.

To many former colleagues whose seemingly random foibles, missteps, and screwups became fodder for this book.
And to my husband, who spent many hours listening to me bitch about the said colleagues.
Introduction
This book is a whimsical collection of lighthearted vignettes of my observations (over thirty years) of the interactions and foibles of businessmen and businesswomen, along with some good-hearted advice. Although some of it is dated, a scan of thirty years in the business world is bound to explore actions and attitudes that have gone the way of the electric typewriter and liquid paper. Even with this in mind, some attitudes and behaviors do not change much over the decades, especially in the business setting.
Women and men behave differently. (I read that on a flavored water bottle.) Their upbringings, what they've learned in school, and the in the moment
fast thinking cause them to take certain actions or say certain things. If you look at all of these in a humorous light, you will better appreciate all the emails and boring meetings, and you feel better knowing you're not alone.
You will meet my muse, the source of my creative writing. She is very mercurial, but I can usually find her in my master closet. She's a hoot, very witty, and a two-feet-tall smart-ass. She is the reason I enjoy writing as she has often helped me push together the nouns and verbs.
After many days of colleagues and management being all up in your bizness,
you will enjoy the original craft cocktail recipes with special business names that are included.
I also have included some excerpts from interviews with employees representing three generations and their thoughts on the interactions of men and women in the workplace.
All told, much of what I have written is tongue-in-cheek, so enjoy it that way.
