Service is one of the greatest principles on this earth but when it comes to the kingdom of God, service is the greatest key to the realm of abundance and the Scriptures consistently affirms this.

This is why there are so many obstacles to serving God. Satan your enemy, does not want you to live the abundant life that is connected to serving God, and he is the person who ocastrate all the weapons that he uses to hinder you from serving God. Of course he has succeeded with many people including God's children.

Find out from this classic book, the second in series of the "KINGDOM GROWTH SERIES", twelve things that the enemy is using against God's children in stopping them from serving God. Ignorance is not an excuse and you might be using any one of these obstacles as an excuse.

12 Things That don't want you to Serve God - Daniel Kumi

    INTRODUCTION

And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the Lord, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.

    Josh. 24:15, ESV

God created us to serve Him. He created us to have fellowship with Him; He desires our fellowship. What a great honour for God to desire to commune with us! I believe this is the highest honour someone will ever have.

Unfortunately, mankind has deviated from this intended purpose. A lot of people do not want to serve God; they rather want to serve other things. Many people are serving creatures instead of the Creator. It is not a normal thing if someone decides not to serve the Lord.

One of Satan’s desires is to draw people’s hearts away from God. That is why people’s attention is drawn away from God. Today, people have time for all other things apart from God. People are more committed to their jobs and businesses more than God. People have thousand and one reasons why they don’t want to serve God.

From the very beginning of life, it has been Satan’s desire to draw us away from the Creator. Satan wants us to worship him (Satan) through the peripheral things of this world. He is a separatist. He is working so hard to separate us from God. This was the main reason why he enticed Adam and Eve to sin against God. After he lost his position, he became jealous of our relationship with God. He wants to have a larger percentage of the population following him to hell.

Today, Satan and his demons are working more than ever before to deceive people that it is a vain thing to serve God. In place of serving God, Satan has given a lot of ‘toys’ to bring people temporary pleasure. That is why many a people have replaced God with goods. Instead of serving God, they are serving money and other created things. They love gold more than God.

Satan is a very experienced enemy of mankind. He has studied human beings and he knows the buttons to press to get people’s hearts drawn from God. He knows the right baits to use. He puts a lot of impediments our way to hamstring us. But the Bible says we are not ignorant of his devices (2 Cor. 2:11).

In this timely book, we are going to look at some hurdles that try to prevent us from serving God. There are many things that do not want us to serve God. These are stumbling blocks that are seeking after us to stop us from following our Maker. Twelve of these stumbling blocks have been exposed in this book, and we will definitely leap over them.

I strongly believe in my heart, that the Lord who revealed these mysteries will show us the way out! We will surely serve the Lord. Without any reservation, we will echo the words of Joshua: "...AS FOR ME AND MY HOUSE, WE WILL SERVE THE LORD.

    CHAPTER ONE

    THE DEVIL

Then the Lord said to Moses, Go in to Pharaoh and say to him, ‘Thus says the Lord, Let my people go, that they may serve me.

    Exo. 8:1, ESV

But Pharaoh said, "Who is the Lord, that I should obey his voice and let Israel go? I do not know the Lord, and moreover, I will not let Israel go.

    Exo. 5:2, ESV

The first and the main thing that does not want us to serve God is the devil. The devil hates God and anyone or anything related to Him. He seeks to destroy God’s purposes and plans. However, he is too weak to fight God directly. What he does instead is to direct his attention to those who want to serve God. He wants to hurt God by hurting humanity because he knows that humanity is the object of God’s love. When someone is hurting someone you truly love, you feel the pain. And the love of God supersedes any human love.

In the above Bible passage, God told Moses to tell Pharaoh
