THE BEGINNING
In the sleepy town of Whitewood, where time seemed to drag, shadows danced around under the full moon's gaze. The inhabitants of the town were well aware of its peculiar past, tales of the supernatural sprinkled throughout its history like silver threads in an old tapestry. A figure huddled under a thick cloak was making its way through the outskirts of the town. Beneath the hood, eyes glittered with an unusual intensity, filled with a sense of urgency.
Thom, the blacksmith's son, had been watching the mysterious figure from a distance. As an inquisitive teenager always seeking adventures, he had always been intrigued by the tales and mysteries surrounding Whitewood. As the figure approached the old stone bridge that led out of the town, Thom quickly made his decision, leaving the safety of his perch to tail the stranger.
Unseen, he managed to follow the stranger into the heart of the ancient forest that bordered Whitewood. There, the figure halted, glancing around nervously. The hood was dropped, revealing a middle-aged man, his face contorted with fear and desperation.
He reached into his cloak, pulling out a small, worn leather pouch. He opened it, revealing a silver chain with an ornate pendant. It glittered under the moonlight, the intricate design a mesmerizing swirl that seemed to contain a crescent moon and a wolf.
The man whispered a chant, his voice barely audible above the rustling leaves. As he
