Chapter 1
Ally, are you ready for school?
My dad said in the living room.
Yeah, Dad. I just need to grab my jacket and my bag,
I called from my bedroom. I grabbed my orange jacket from my closet and threw it on. I grabbed my heavy bag, and then I went downstairs and into the living room. All right, ready to go?
Yup, I've got my bag, jacket, and umbrella, so we can go hit the trail,
he said.
My dad's black jacket didn't have a hood like mine, and it really wasn't raining that hard. He was dressed in a white-collared shirt and jeans and had a red tie on him. His short brown hair was combed down; he looked like he was dressed to impress. We hopped in my dad's car and drove down to my school. Have a good day at school, and get ready to ace that test,
he said when I got out.
I will. Have a great day at work,
I said.
I will,
he said and drove off.
I went inside and headed for my science class. Since I always had enough time until class starts, I studied for my test. Science has always been my favorite subject ever since I was six, and my dad got me into it. He works at a science facility where it teaches machinery, chemistry, and other stuff. I even entered science fairs and won. We were studying types of diseases. While I was reading my study guide, my other classmates came in. The bell rang, and it was time to start our test. I share a table with Lee Eiffel, he was my friend and the cutest boy I ever sat with, we both got A's on our stuff, and we always became buddies for projects. He had black glasses and a green sweater vest, and he had short light-brown hair. I finished my test and handed it to my teacher Mr. Cooper. He was dressed in a black shirt, and he had red, curly hair. Thank you, Miss Powders. I suspect you did a good job on it like you always do.
I know I did,
I said and went back to my seat and started reading my library book.
As soon as everyone was done with their tests and gave them to the teacher, he put on a video of what we'll be doing on the next unit like he always does when we finish a test. It was about the human body and what it does. As soon as it was over, we collected our things, and we left as soon as the bell rang. I carried on with my other class: math, which was my fourth favorite subject. In the chorus, I sing in the background because I wasn't into being in the front row. Then it was cooking class; Lee and my other friends Tabitha and Sophie were in the same group as me, which is sweet-it's the name of what we taste. We were making pretzels and getting their toppings, like salt and cinnamon sugar; we used both of them. We brought in little baggies for them because we always had our cooking as a snack or as our lunch, since we had fourth lunch.
It was now lunchtime, and we sat together for lunch. Tabitha and Sophie sat in front of me and Lee. Tabitha had strawberry blond hair with a pink strip going down her left side. She wore a pink shirt. Sophie had her black hair in a ponytail with a purple scrunchie and a purple sweater with an owl on it. I had a grilled cheese sandwich and a soda. Lee had a peanut butter sandwich with a juice box. Tabitha had a pizza and grabbed chocolate milk. Sophie had ziti, garlic bread, and apple juice because she's a vegetarian. We talked about what we did for our classes and how good our pretzels are. The bell rang, and it was time for my worst subject, which is gym class. I got undressed in my blue uniform, and we were doing dodgeball. I got out first, again. We kept playing until it was time for us to get dressed. I threw my black-and-white plaid shirt, jeans, jacket, and my bag on, and I went on my bus and sat there. We stopped on my corner, and I headed for home. I got inside, went into my bedroom, put my bag down, set my jacket on my door to let it dry, and turned on the TV. Dad came home with Chinese food. Hey, Ally, I've got work tomorrow, so do you want to come with me?
he asked.
Sure, I love going there,
I said.
I went there only when Dad needs to go in on the weekends, and I love it because it was filled with so much science and nice people.
Chapter 2
After I took my shower, got dressed in jeans and a white shirt, and blow-dried my blond hair, I met Dad in the living room ready to go. He wore jeans and a white-collared shirt; he looked ready for his job. We got in the car and drove to work, and because there was someone who brought in donuts, we didn't need to grab breakfast.
We made it to the Science and Tech. Building; it still looks like how it always is. It's as big as my school; it's a white building with a lot of windows. We entered, and Dad showed the woman behind the counter his ID. The woman's name is Betty; she had brown hair and was skinny. She had on the uniform of this place, which was a blue jacket and a white shirt she even had on pearls. I remembered her the last time I was here, which was a month
