    Intro:

Remember when you were young and the world was full of magic, when you believe in unicorns and fairytales and when your imagination went wild when you played with your favored toy.  Wasn’t that fun? Do you remember when you stopped believing in that magic? Mostly important do you remember why you stopped believing in it? Most of you will answer: I grow up. What would you say that the magic you believed in is true, that is real like the air you breathe in? What would you say if I told you I know two girls who are friends with a fire, or who dance with a wind, or who can talk to a tree, who run with a water and who keep the spirit of magic alive in them. Funny? Weird? Impossible? Read further and find out. Maybe by the end you will believe in magic again. Just beaver this isn’t for the close hearted and close minded people. Continue at your own risk.

    Chapter 1: Winter sun

Winter came fast this year. It came uninvited, it came running and taking over the warm breeze of the fall. It blocked the fall sun and let the snow down on the hills top. The jeans jackets were replaced by heavy cotes and ski jackets. The snickers were put away and the boots came out. Girl’s skirts and shirts were changed for jeans and thick sweaters. Yes, winter came fast this year. Night came running early in the day and the moon just beat the sun away from the sky. Cold, long winter came too soon. I sat at my desk before the math class and looked out of the window. Snow, snow and more snow. I just could imagination what would be when we get out of the school. Snow fights and snow balls would be flying all around. I already know who would start the first one. My brothers, Beeves and Butthead. The twins, every girl dream. In my case they were two complete idiots, but on the bright side they were a chick magnet which was good for me too. A bang of the door broth me back to the class room.

Ok, settle down everybody. We have a lot of work to do today. – said prof. Rolland – First, anybody wants to answer for a mark?

Yes, hands went flying like crazy. Ppppffffttt…

Fine, then I will open somebody. – said the professor

Just my luck she will call me to the board.

Miss. Aylwin come up. – said the professor

Alexis Aylwin, once my best friend now a girl who didn’t talk to me for two whole years. I still remember the fight that broth our friendship down. Alexis was the smartest girl in our class, smarter then professors them self. She was a popular girl too, every girl wanted to be her, every boy wanted to date her. Maybe because she was different then most of the girls in our school. She dressed different, her hair was different, her eyes too and she had tattoos on her body. Even that she was smart she wasn’t a professors’ pet and that was because she opposed them a lot of the time. Alexis Aylwin a girl who was once my friend.

Very good Alexis. An A+. – said professor

Alexis just smiled, corrected her long red hair and walked back to her seat. She shared the desk with her best friend Spring. That isn’t the girl’s real name, but a nickname. Alexis gave her that when we were in 4th grade, because her name meant the Goddess of Spring and the nickname stayed all those years. Now even the professors called her Spring. The professor stopped questioning people and started a new lesson. The class was slow and boring as any other math class. Good thing was that after we had an hour of a lunch break.

    ***

I still can’t believe that you stop being friends with them. – said Adam as we were taking food to our usual table at the school cafeteria

Adam, stop talking. – I said. My brothers were annoying me with that subject ever since Alexis and me had our big fight and stopped talking to each other.

He is right bro. You must be out of your mind for breaking with the two hottest girls in our school. – said Evan

Both of you need to stop talking about it. Just drop that subject. – I said now half mad. I know they won’t stop it, so I started praying that Marcus will show up soon.

And we still don’t know what the hell happened that day when Alexis run out from our house mad as hell and like a devil himself was chasing after her. – said Adam with his mouth full of food.

And I think two years is enough and that you should tell us what happened. – said Evan.

Ok, Adam and Even were twins who didn’t look anything alike, but they sure did think alike.

O Marcus please come. – I said now mad and annoyed

He won’t save you now. So tell us. – said Adam

Or we will ask the sisters. – said Evan

Sure you will. Of course you will. Come on, you two are in love with them for the past three years. Ever since we all went to that rock concert. And what you know, you never spoken more than a HI to them. So go ahead and ask them. – I said laughing to the point when Adam got up and walked over to where Alexis was sitting with her sister Cora and her two best friends Spring and Hannah.

What is he doing? – I asked half confused, half scared

Well I think Adam just found his back bone. You really should have just told us, moron. – said Evan and got up himself.

Fucking hell now I was in trouble.

    ***

The rest of the school went in a blur; I just waited for it to end so I can go home. I still had no idea what Adam and Evan talked to the sisters and their friends. On a good side Alexis ignored me like she has for the past two years, so I just hoped the two idiot twins didn’t ask what happened between the two us. I practically ran home, knowing that everybody would stay and enjoyed the snow. I came home first; only ones’ home was my mom, dad and younger brother and sisters.

Hey sweetheart, how was school? – asked my mom as I entered the living room and dropped my bag on the floor.

Like always mom, boring and school like. – I said – Did my brothers come back?

No, they did not. Snow falls and your brothers come back late. – said mom and smiled

To my twin brothers I have five more siblings. Two older brothers George (20) and Sven (19), one younger brother Liam (4) and two younger sisters Rose (2) and Marry (5 months).  A big fucking family.

Phillip I need you to go out and get fire wood. – said my dad sipping a glass of bear.

Dad, I am tired. – I said begging him to let me of the hook. Not that it will work. My dad was hard core.

I said Philip I need you to go get fire wood for the house, now. – he said again

I just shook my head and said: Fine, whatever. Got up and walked out from the house.

I decided not to get the wood right away. My dad won’t mind if I take the walk first and then come back as long as I come back with the wood for the fireplace. In these two years I found myself walking towards the same bloody house. Alexis and Cora’s house. It was like an invisible gravity was pulling me to the house. The witch’s house. I still can’t believe they did magic, and not just for fun, magic and witchcraft was they life style. That was the reason of our big fight. I didn’t approve of what they were doing. How little did I know that the reason of the fight with my best friend would save me and my brother’s life in the future?

You are trespassing Phillip Morety. – said the voice from above, making me jump and scream

And you still scream like a girl. – said the voice again. I looked up and saw Alexis on the oak tree.

Alexis you made me jump from my skin. What the fuck are you doing up there? – I asked.

Listening to the wind. – she said

Come the hell down before you fall or something. – I said

She came down, so easily as if she was coming down the stairs. I could have sworn that I saw branches move as she climbed down from the tree making her a way. I just shook my head. Now she was standing in front of me looking at my eyes with the green color in hers.

So what did the wind tell you? – I asked just to break of the silence

That you are trespassing. – she said colder than the wind that was blowing that night

You need the wind to tell you that? – I said a bit sarcastic

No, I needed the wind to tell me something else, but you showed up. – she said

    Whatever Alexis. – I said

Look, you may not approve of what I or my family do, but that doesn’t mean that we don’t do it. – she said now warmer than before

Yes you are right about that. – I said

I know I am right, but I also know you are wrong. – she said

What the fuck that means? – I asked

You will have to find out for yourself Phillip Morety. – she said, turned around, wiped her red hair and walked away

What do you mean Alexis? ALEXIS??? – I yelled

Find out for yourself. – she said back and walked in to her house

I stood there for some time, wrapping my brain around what she meant by Find out for yourself. In all of that I completely forgot to ask her about my brothers. I run back home, got the fire wood and went to my room. I’ll find out. How I didn’t know. But I will find out what she meant about me being wrong. I had to, I know I had to.

There you are. – said Adam as I entered my room.

Shit, you two the only ones I didn’t want to see. – I said

Nice to see you too bro. – said Evan

I just rolled my eyes and sat on the bed. Annoying.

Any way, we are having a party on Friday after school. Mom said it is ok and they will get lost with the kids for a couple of hours. – said Adam

Yes and we need you to help us organized. – said Evan

For God sake, we just had a party last weekend. – I said

So? – they both said together

We gonna be party out before the school ends. – I said

Now Adam rolled his eyes and Evan just started laughing.

I swear to God sometimes I think you are 40 years old not 16. – said Adam

He is an old sole bro. – said Evan

Ok, ok. Shit. We are having a party. Fine. Whatever. – I said – I’ll help. But now will you two please leave me the hell alone.

Sorry, we can’t. – said Adam

Not just jet. – said Evan

But we will be quick. – said Adam

    We promise. – said Evan

You two are definitely twins. – I said

Adam and Even looked at each other and said: Of course we are. Can’t you tell just by looking at us?

What do you need?? Get to the point. – I said now irritated

O right. We need you to pass these to friends in your class. – said Adam

And by friends we mean Alexis, Cora, Spring and Hannah. – said Evan

Hell no. – I said – There is no way in hell I am going to talk to them.

You will. Or else. – said Adam while Evan showed me his fist

Cora and Hannah don’t go to my class. – I said

Are you stupid of what?? Give them to Alexis she will pass them along. She said she would today at lunch. – said Evan

Huh? – I said now confused more them I was all day today

What do you think happened when we left to talk to them at lunch? – asked Adam

You really though we asked her what happened between you two? – asked Evan

    I just nodded

To tell you the truth we don’t care. – said Adam

    Sure you don’t. – I said

We do and don’t. When we went to talk to them we asked if they would come on Friday and Alexis said sure. – said Evan

And then we left them and meet Marcus outside for a smoke. – said Adam

So don’t you worry your ugly little head. – said Evan

We didn’t ask her anything. – said Adam

The rest of the week went faster than light. Adam and Evan were busy with the party. Marcus was busy with his new girlfriend and I was rapping my head around how to give Alexis the invitations for her and her friends. It was middle of the Thursday and it was before History class when Alexis and Spring came over to the desk where I was sitting.

Your brothers told me you have something for us. - said Alexis tapping her foot on the floor

Huh? – I said looking up from the book

Adam and Evan told us you have something for us. – said Spring rising her eyebrows

O yes, completely forgot about that. – I said and pulled the invitations form my bag

Well I’ll take that explanation. – said Alexis and took them from me

What that means? – I asked – I really forgot about them.

"That is better than I don’t want to talk to her explanation you have allll the time." – said Alexis

    Not true. – I said

Yeah, my ass. You haven’t spoken to us for two years. – said Spring

Correction, I haven’t spoken to Alexis for two years. You, I have nothing against you. – I said

And you have something against me? – asked Alexis crossing her arms over her chest

Well not you, but what you do. – I said

    Bull shit. – said Spring

Forget it Spring. Let’s just go take our seat. He is a lost case. – said Alexis and walked away

She was right I was a lost case, but that was the way I was broth up. Different was wrong and bad. The only right way was God and his way. Now I am full of shit. I cursed, smoked and got in to trouble to many times, so how was I any different from Alexis and her sister. First, I didn’t do magic and chop of chickens heads of. Second, I used my fist in fights they used bad spells and black magic. Third and last, I prayed to God they prayed to Gaia (earth), Nun (water), Vasilia (wind), Vesta (fire) and Elips (spirit). Fuck who am I kidding; I didn’t have a clue what the fuck they did with the magic they loved, except the last one. Alexis told me the names of the five goddess who protected them. And then I went all sico on her and said a lot of nasty
