Worldly Wisdom & Secrets - Stephen Lloyd Boundy
Chapter 1:
The Eras of Creation and Mankind
An ancient ship is powered by rowers. The journey is dragging on. The master sings out, ‘The flogging will continue until morale improves. Heave to!’
Are we punishing ourselves with a mysterious plight that causes hate and evil? Are we flogging ourselves, and each other, believing there is only one way to live? Is there a mysterious trait in our make-up that causes many problems? Do we realise the true depth in ourselves? I propose the ego is this problem. Overcome the ego and the world will become much more peaceful. Read on and learn.
In the Beginning
In the beginning, there was darkness, and then there was light. The light was love. Love created the universe and us. Evil destroys; love creates. Along the way, we began to search for wisdom. We got here because love created us. Our purpose is to love ourselves and others. We have been on a journey of developing a higher brain and intelligence. It is now time to end this part of the journey and create peace and harmony on earth.
The ego is intrinsically part of our journey, created along with our higher brain and intelligence. I believe animals, in general, do not have an ego. I also believe we are different because we created a logical brain and became dependent on it and lost track of our instincts, which other animals seem to depend on. We are not aware of the intelligence in our body which, together with our mind, has emotions and consequent feelings. Our powerful language has separated us from the rest of the animal kingdom and, seemingly, is part of the vehicle of the ego.
We lost track of our origins as part of the animal kingdom partly through our development of language. We lost track of the power of intelligence in our feelings. Animals, as best we know, feel both in their mind and body and live based on this. Some animals have some form of basic language, through movement, like bees, or sounds, like dolphins and whales. We are learning more about the concept of whole-body intelligence. Every cell in our body seemingly holds some part of our intelligence. The brain cells are just a higher order of this.
It is time to tap into the whole of our intelligence and renew love as our central theme. Love overcomes fear and the ego and creates peace within us as well as at every level in the human realm, individually and collectively. Fear is the strongest emotion and often takes over from any other state we are in.
Read on and discover more about this concept.
I did not come to teach you; I came to love you. Love will teach you!

The Eras of Mankind
•The creation of Man led to the teachings of Christ and that we are Love.
•Today, we realise we are created to love and be loved.
•The future we are heading towards is creating peace and harmony on earth.
LOVE is Light Of Various Energies.
Light and Love are interchangeable.
Love is the most powerful force in the universe.
These are the four questions of life we may ask, possibly unconsciously, and my answers to how these link to love:
•How did we get here?
oWe were created from love.
•Why are we here?
oTo be loved and be loving.
•What is our purpose?
oTo love others and ourselves beyond the ego.
•Where are we going?
oWe are creating peace on earth.
Chapter 2:
The Ego Revisited
The Beginnings of the Understanding of the Ego
In my book The Ego and Beliefs Revealed, the ego is discussed with the beliefs surrounding it. Here, I continue this discussion and bring more understanding to the subject of the ego.
In Sigmund Freud’s version of the ego, it is the balancer between the id—which defines what we ‘need’ and ‘want’—and the superego—which is the justification that is ruled by ‘morals’ and ‘social standards’ we have learnt through life. We may have a thought that we want a flashy car in a fleeting moment, but our superego steps in and says we were brought up in a way that corrects this thinking and says we only need a car that is reliable and comfortable and with a little bit of extra power for getting out of difficult situations. This is the balancer at play.
In this Freudian model, it is understood that morals and values are learnt first in our early years. Beliefs are based on these and develop once such traits are bedded in. They keep changing, whereby they feed each other, as our understanding is challenged.
This early interpretation of the ego has been lost over the years. It can still bring some meaning to life and our understanding of the term ‘ego’.
Needs, values, emotions, thought, and the ego
If we are content with life, we elevate ourselves to a new level of being. That is, if we have no psychological needs, the ego has no work to do and hence falls away and no longer needs to control or seek approval. We are free and on a path to personal development and perhaps spiritual enlightenment, now being at peace with the world and the way we live our lives, and attracting others who seek what we have: a form of unconditionally loving ourselves. We do not have to take up space in our minds with a constant battle with the ego. We create space in our minds for new wisdom and creativity to come forth. With this in mind, we can become emotionally intelligent—a good skill to have.
Have you ever had someone speak to you in a way that annoys or hurts you? I’m sure we all have. Do you react quickly in an outburst coming from the primal brain that works on fight-or-flight, or do you think about your values of kindness and compassion? If you overreact, anger management may be needed (see the energy exercise in Chapter 6—Lessons to help with this). Do you think carefully about your response, or do you just remain silent so as not to retaliate? This is your healthy ego kicking in at first, wanting to lash out, but you think of a more considered and measured response.
The Freudian model of the ego could be extended to having an id that not only has needs and wants but thoughts and reactions that come from the subconscious, which are also generated from our emotions. Emotions or moods such as anger or anxiety affect how you react; if you have a developed healthy ego and moral compass, your logical and helpful emotive brain will bring forward thoughts that will take control before being overcome and bursting out. Being grounded and calm (see calming energy exercise in Part 6—Lessons) helps to control such outbursts. We normally have many stray and wild thoughts, but our moral code and values temper these into more loving and considered approaches. This will create feedback and help ease uneasy emotions and moods. Uneasy emotions such as unnecessary anger (some anger is necessary) are often habits as part of our subconscious.
Some simple points to note about the ego are as follows:
•Emotional maturity is required to keep the ego in check.
•The ego is the controller, balancing the id with the superego.
•Sigmund Freud gave an early interpretation of the ego.
•The id represents our desires or needs, which can be constant if we allow them.
•Needs
