    The idea of this book is to wake you up and give you information and tools for lubricating the gears of your mind with one goal in sight: how to achieve what you want. Or how to become successful, or how to not think, or from a fixed mindset to a growth mindset. Pick a catchy trendy headline along those lines that works for you. I’m calling this book: "Why You Aren’t Getting What You Want" and that’s where we’re headed next. We’re going to figure out what is holding you back, why, and what to do about it.

    I’ll be using myself as an example throughout this book, mostly because I cannot be bothered to ask permission from the hundreds of different people to use their stories, and also because their stories are somewhat similar. The process is pretty much the same regardless of who you are and where you’re coming from. It’s only the details that change and those do not matter in the grand scheme of things. You will have your own unique little speed bumps on your journey and there is no one else better suited to working them out, other than yourself.

    Over the years I’ve read dozens of books about psychology, philosophy, and all sorts of other mind-related stuff, and put the knowledge into practice. I changed my life from nothing to success and armed with the knowledge and the experience, I helped hundreds of people become new and improved versions of themselves. Most of them shared their experiences with me and now all that experience and knowledge is squeezed into a compact and hopefully easy-to-read format which is this book.

    I hope this book will open your mind just enough to change the course of your life if that is what you truly want. I’ve changed my and many others’ lives with this knowledge and I believe it will change yours as well if you’re willing to start the journey.

    Human mind

    Human mind is a peculiar thing and it might come as a surprise that what you think isn’t always what you think. Yes, you read that right. When we form a thought in our head, it might have an entirely different meaning at the same time. We think of something, but our mind hears something else. I call this the not-thought. Disclaimer: This term is completely something I threw together and I haven’t heard it anywhere else. If someone called it first, credit to them.

    Another strange thing is our subconscious mind. It works in the background and guides us in our life making decisions on our behalf without having to consciously stop and think. It can make our lives easier
