About this ebook

While poetry allows a reader to gain different perspectives, this work of poetry will delve into the darkness of mental illness as well as the search for enlightenment. It is written with the hope that it touches the heart, soul, and mind of those who choose to examine it, all while it allows a person to examine themselves.

    Wretched State of the Union

We have arrived at a dystopian realm

    With a rhetoric unabashed

To foresee who is at the helm

Has rendered our minds as trashed

That we could not hold onto the dream

Where our conscience held no fear

Now our hearts and minds do scream

For we know our end is near

Set upon the verge of minds panic stricken

    Dreamscapes turn dark and cold

Just to survive, the skin must so thicken

On our venture into the untold.

    What Will Remain of Us

    To assuage away the prophecies

Bans the judgement our heart sees

For life is lived within a moment’s repose

When our dream is all that knows

That our future tense is but ethereal

A singular rhapsody is the control

Prophets know not of heaven or hell

But within or without, we are bound towards one

Let it be known false prophets exist

Whose words shall, at once, cease and desist

No judgement can happen in that inevitable place

Where our time ends and begins again

Severed the soul from the flesh’s trace

No more sense of time relived just then.

    We Ended (Quicker Than

    These Words)

I was but fodder for her heart

A little white lie converging on my soul

Gained ground from the very start

And now I perceive us as void and null.
