FOREWORD

ELEVEN PERFECT PSALMS is in essence a commemorative work, raised in the memory of all beloveds lost to the unforgettable 9/11 attack in New York City in 2001; in which many families of the world lost someone dear and irreplaceable. Having myself lost a dearly beloved to untimely death before, I found a lot of spiritual consolation in meditating on these devout compositions of David at the very dark period and after; and was called upon by the Holy Spirit to share the insights gained with fellow believers in the beautiful and blessed words of the Scripture.

Doubtless, a lot of books have been written on the Book of Psalms. It constitutes an extant masterpiece of religious writing which has been studied and quoted for centuries by prophets and seers of all races alike. The passages of psalms illuminate with wisdom, rhythm and virtuosity unmatched by any other in the Scripture which has lent it to many scholarly interpretations. This work is my humble contribution to the gracious pool of eminent thoughts on psalms.

ELEVEN PERFECTS PSALMS, ideally, should be read with an open spirit attuned to God. To find the same delight and peace I found sharing them with the Holy Spirit, the reader must study the passages like poetry; unveiling meanings hidden behind its lyric metaphors and rhythmic tropes. At the end I am assured of open heavens for those graced to share in these divine meditations of the man after God's heart.

THE BEAUTY OF THIS SONG is revealed in unfaltering faith exhibited in the promise of God by a believer, as espoused by the psalmist, when assailed with tribulations of life. At close look we see it is a dramatic passing, featuring David and the Original Accuser, Satan; who came with the usual temptations and deception, in trying to make David lose his foothold in faith and by that cause Holy Spirit to desert him.

Hear the opening made by David, solemnly declaring his abiding faith in the promise of the Almighty God, countering the Accuser's evil fiat on his faithful soul:
