To ALL who answer God's call on your life, step up and go forward.

Do what He has called you to do.

If you have to do it with tears in your eyes and/or alone, DO IT.

God has sent you, so go, for God is with you.

He will never leave you nor forsake you. He will NEVER put more on you than you can bare. He has already equipped you for the purpose He has called you to. It is worth it.

The more you go forward, the grip of fear lightens.

CHAPTER ONE

Sent To Serve

It was July of 2015 and in my assignment to help a Pastor, God moved me from High Point, North Carolina to Jersey City, New Jersey. The pastor is none other than Pastor J. Pitts. My role is as a servant of the most high God, my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

I could not get to my assignment fast enough. I gave away furniture, curtains, coffee mugs, glasses, a toaster, microwave, and a bedroom set to someone that was in need. At first, I tried selling my household goods. They did not sell. I was going to leave everything in the apartment, but that would mean that I would lose my deposit. I thought about giving it away, but I didn’t want the benefactor of that good deed to sell them for a profit. Then I thought, if I give it away, it is not my place to tell the person what to do with their belongings. I had a square deep freezer that God told me to sell and that was the only item that was sold. I went to the apartment complex manager and told her I have a bedroom set that I am giving away to anybody who wanted it. She said she did not need it. So, I asked her if she knew if any of the tenants in the community needed a bedroom set? She said, No, none that I know of.

At first, I wasn’t thinking. I was just going to get rid of the bedroom set, then if push comes to shove, I could put the couch and the large ottoman in the trash. No biggie to me. It’s just two pieces of furniture that I can lose without having a sense of attachment. Now, my bedroom set? It was a nice set and it was well built. I spent a lot of time talking to God while sitting and laying on my bed. My bed was anointed. If any of my children or I weren’t feeling well, we would lay on my bed. After any amount of sleep, we would awake with a feeling that whatever was troubling us was lifted. We all felt better after we got up from our sleep/nap. To God be the Glory! For this thing He has done.

The manager of the apartments called me and asked, Do you still have the bedroom set and is it still free?

I said, Yes.

She said, I think I may have found someone who might want it. She wants to come over to see it. Is that ok with you?

I said, Yes. The woman came over and I showed her the bedroom set.

She said, This is nice. How much do you want for it?

I told her I am not selling it. I’m giving it away. Then I asked, Do you want it?

So, she asked me again, how much do you want for it?

I said, I don’t want nothing for it. I just want to bless someone with it. So, she walked around on both sides of the bed and pushed the mattress down. I said, The mattress, box spring, the dresser, and the chest comes with it. I asked her again, do you want it?"

She said, Yes!!! She said, You’re giving the dresser and chest too? I told her it comes with the bed. She said, All of this? I want it, she said. She could not believe I was giving away a queen size bedroom set with the mattress and box spring, the dresser and chest that goes with it and did not want anything for it.

I told her, I know it’s hard to believe, but I am.

She said, I thought there were no good people left in this world and you showed me that there’s a few left and you’re one of them. I told her she could have the curtains in my bedroom too if you want them. She begins to cry. She hugged me and cried some more. She said, Yeah, I’ll take them.

We went into the living room and she began talking to me about her life and the things that lead her to work at the apartment complex that I lived in. She said, "I work here. I’m here with my
