    I looked around the little square, a few people lurked and a few more walked through the space seemingly oblivious to my having just arrived and the lost look I must have had on my face.

    Thankfully it was a well-lit and you could easily argue, that it was an inviting space to be waiting in, if, that is, your stomach wasn’t full of knots and would I definitely have walked back to my car and driven home except for the fact that I was due to meet Carol and she can only be described as a strong friend and to be fair it needed a strong friend to get me here tonight, especially the way I was feeling.

    It had started earlier in the day, I had woken up, showered, got ready for work, the same as every single morning since I had left college.  On my way out of the apartment building I had instinctively opened my mailbox and collected the pile of rubbish that had sat there for the last couple of days.  My ritual of checking my mail, when I remember, was only so I didn’t get another rebuke from the building manager about my little box being stuffed, the only box I have right now that has any chance of a good stuffing.

    I grabbed the few items that were inside and pushed them into my purse, I would read them later and then have that overwhelming satisfaction when I use the office shredder to show the distain I had for all pointless advertisements and even more so when the adverts were for things such as weight loss programs of which there were always so many of.  I am sure they know that I constantly struggle keeping to my current weight and they bombard me with plans and classes that will make the struggle so easy.  It was all lying bullshit, and they would not catch me out again. 

    I got to the office without anything memorable from my journey and as I flopped down at my desk with my newly acquired coffee becoming cool enough to start to enjoy, I threw the documents from my
