About this ebook

This is a daily Devotional on the Book of Proverbs. My hope is that you will see it much more. As we go through the book of Proverbs, my main interest is to bring Jesus into the book. We are now living in the New Testament, under Grace and what Jesus has done through his sacrifice on the cross. Now when we put Jesus in Proverbs, we see the wisdom and understanding that He gives us and so much more through our faith and fellowship with Him. You will form a personal relationship with Jesus and be able to grow into His image and likeness. This was what God wanted and planned for us in the beginning. Shalom 2 U

Jesus in Proverbs - Shalom Jim

    Proverbs 1:33 Really Listen

Pro 1:33  But whoever listens to me will dwell securely, and will be at ease, without fear of harm."

The previous verses talked about all the bad things that can come upon a person who doesn't listen to God. I believe that daily devotionals can help you listen when you use them as a means to grow in the LORD. Really listen! It took me over 60 years to really listen. It's no wonder that I had some tragic things happen in my life. Now I am really listening but things don't change overnight. I'm continually fighting the good fight of faith. I ignored what God was trying to tell me.  I listened to what others would say.  If it’s not grace, it’s not Good News and it’s not of the Lord.  Let the LORD and the Holy Spirit have the final word.

Dear Jesus! You are the way, the truth, and the light. Help us to rightly divide your words. We will seek you with all our hearts as you will lead us to the Promised Land . To God be the glory Amen! Shalom2u

Pro 2:4. Bible: a treasure map

Pro 2:4  if you seek her as silver, and search for her as for hidden treasures:

When we read the Bible. we can't read it just like any other book. One must meditate on it. Talk to the Holy Spirit about it. Then you will get understanding and revelation. Too often, one reads the Bible like any other book: a novel, a textbook, etc... The Bible is meant to be a way that we can communicate with God. It's how we fellowship with Him.

Dear Jesus! You came that we might have life more abundantly. Fellowshiping with you has brought so much love, joy, and peace to my soul. You give me the peace that passes all understanding; knowing that I am righteous by faith in You. Your words to me enable me to go through life knowing that I am secure in my Father's love. He has me in the palm of His hand. To God be the glory Amen! Shalom2u

    Proverbs 3:1.  Life-Giving Words

Pro 3:1  My son, don’t forget my teaching; but let your heart keep my commandments:

Commandments here are not quite like the 10 Commandments or law. Proverbs are full of instructions that if we follow will bless us. If we don't follow, we can probably bring trouble to ourselves. Proverbs are like precepts: a command or principle intended especially as a general rule of action. These are intended to protect us from harm and enable us to live life to the fullest. These teachings are meant to bless us.

Dear Jesus! When you were here on earth, many called you a teacher. When we abide in You, you are so much more than a teacher. Your words bring life to our souls. They don't just fill our minds with rules and regulations but enable us to live as we should. As your word says John 6:63  It is the spirit who gives life. The flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit and are life. They also give us love, joy, and peace. To God be the glory Amen!  Shalom 2u

    Proverbs 3:3. Grace & Truth

Pro 3:3  Don’t let kindness (mercy)and truth forsake you. Bind them around your neck. Write them on the tablet of your heart.

The Gospel of John tells us: John 1:17  For the law was given through Moses. Grace and truth were realized through Jesus Christ.

Jesus didn't come to give us the law but He came to fulfill the Law. Now instead of being under the Law; Jesus gives us grace and truth. Eph 2:8- For by grace you are saved through faith, and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God; v9 it is not from works so that no one can boast. When we are born again ; the truth is that we are a new creation in Christ Jesus . This is grace and truth! As we know, believe, and declare who we are in Christ Jesus ; our soul will control the flesh to live like Jesus. Now we are keeping the Law by grace not works.

Dear Jesus! You are the Saviour of the world. Everyone that abides in you, receives your life-given life to live like you. Your ways are above our ways and your thoughts are above our thoughts. Thank you for your love, joy, and peace. To God be the glory Amen!  Shalom 2u

    Proverbs 3: 5-6 Trust

Pro 3:5-6  Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding . 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

After I was born again at the age of 33, this scripture impressed my heart. I spent some time thinking about it but evidently not enough. I didn't think that it was that difficult to do. It took me another 30-plus years, just to start understanding it. Isa 55:9  For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. God's ways are so far out, that we can not understand them. Faith, believing, trusting without understanding, goes contrary to our flesh: what we see with our eyes, hear with our ears, and can believe with our brain. Common sense is common. God's ways are far above our common sense
