INTRODUCTION
This is a diary – of sorts – that chronicles my coddiwompling ‘coming of age’.
I’m writing this introduction while camped beside a river in the lovely South Australian town of Waikerie. Some parts of the book have been written at picnic tables in public parks, some sitting in a deckchair beside the river, in the forest, in libraries, cafés and some even in shopping centre car parks.
It tells the story – in narrative memoir and verse – of how I came to fulfil a growing desire to explore more of my state of South Australia, and possibly venture into other states as well, in time. The latter is what this story is about. The older I get, the more I feel the pull to explore further and to experience more of life while I still can.
