May you be rescued from the insecurities and challenges you face, learn to focus, and gain knowledge, and to be wise, prudent, compassionate, and understanding of others. May you reach your goals and fulfil your destiny. May you be led by the Holy Spirit, be renewed with a willing desire to serve your life’s purpose. May love and faith be ignited in your soul as you encounter the true meaning of Christ in your life.

Nancy Rivera Schuyler was born and raised in a minority neighborhood project of the uptown Bronx, New York area. Being the daughter of a pastor, she faced many obstacles and challenges, as she was forced to overcome, many years of bullying, name calling and fighting to survive her environment. These early childhood challenges would later hinder her emotional growth and well-being. Nancy was extremely withdrawn, unable to express herself, labeled as shy, quiet and socially challenged. She developed a true relationship with God, through her writing, which served as an outlet of expression and healing. Her commitment to God helped her face her struggles, through prayer and poetry, as she gained her voice and learned to overcome.

Dedicated to my Heavenly Father, You are gracious in all Your ways. Thank You for Your continual guidance and direction. You keep me in perfect peace, even through all the chaos. You help me see Your will and intentions for my life. To my husband, Richard, for your dedication and continual support in all my endeavors. To my loving children, Raymond, Anthony and Amanda, for your love and inspiration. To my siblings, Gumby, Lulu, Marie, Miriam, Ruthy and Shirley, who have faced many struggles in life, only to survive. Finally to my beautiful mother, Carmen, you taught me the meaning of love.
