Well, …

the News Truck has come to the Ghetto

You don’t see them down here everyday

Did they take a wrong turn?

Not that I’m that concerned

but,

wonder what brings ‘em over this way?

Ain’t nobody been firin’ no pistol

Maybe someone robbed somebodys’ store

Maybe someone got stabbed

or, some woman was grabbed in some alley.

It’s happened before

He pulled over and stopped at the corner

‘Bet he’s lost, and could use some suggestions

Well, … his window’s rolled down

‘Think I’ll just walk around to the driver…

…and ask him some questions

Hey, … what’s happenin’, my man?

How’s it goin’?

Say, …

…aren’t you Terry, from News Center 3?

What?!!

What’s that man gonna’ do?!!

What’s a News Camera Crew?!!

What?!!…

A News Interview?!!

With who?… Me?!!

Man, you people just gotta’ be crazy!

Do I look like I’m that big a’ Fool?

Out here on the sidewalk,

you want someone to talk to?

That goes against all of the Rules!

Why’s he saying I’m just the right person?

What are you people trying to do?

Yeah, that’s right! It’s my Hood

But, I don’t think it’s good

to be talkin’ to people like you!

What if somebody misunderstands it?

Hey, somebody could think I’m a Snitch

Man, we’re out in the open!

I’m already hopin’

they won’t find me Dead… in some ditch!

It’s like…

someone might misconceive what we’re doin’

If that happens, guess who could get hurt?

Man, I’m already scared

I just can’t get prepared

for a Bed… under six feet of Dirt!

of Camera Equipment

What all have you got in that trunk?

you came here to gather some Footage

and just happened to run into me

I can clue you to things

that will make your ears ring

Stuff that, if you lived here, you would see!

I just happened to be on the corner

when you Rolled to the end of the ramp

Aw man, …

my Clothes ain’t too Tight!

Man, I look like Fright Night!

You know me!... I’m the Neighborhood Tramp!

Am I ready to talk to the Camera?

Yeah, I guess I’m okay… if you are

But, don’t be too surprised

when I open some eyes

Let me start at the Front of my Story

and then… bring you on up to today

I’ll just move right along

and start singing my Song

Well,

I was moving thru life at a Leisure,

just enjoying the Day as it came,

like a leaky Row Boat

that would, somehow, still float;

like a Cowboy …whose Pony was lame!

Self-assured by my Stringent Awareness

with my life pretty much in control,

I spent most every Day,

little Work, lots of Play

with no thoughts of… Ambitions or Goals!

These were things that I’d never considered

Kids don’t plan …for the long life , ahead

I just looked for Tomatoes,
