    Introduction

Life is filled with tension, challenges, and stress. These days we are often told we must always be on and have a solution or response for everything we face. Newsflash: That is impossible. Staying ready so you don’t have to get ready is unrealistic and promises to leave you with anxiety, fatigue, and burnout.

Jesus had a full life and rigorous ministry. Even with the demands of human suffering, managing his own family dynamics, and the pressures that came from living in a diverse society with its political and economic injustices, Jesus found a way to connect with God and others. He was confident in His ministry and calling.

This book looks at how Jesus lived. The practices and habits that made Him successful are available to us today.  You will find short daily devotionals that explain the spiritual practices of Christ and it will encourage you to meditate on a few short questions as you think about your life, its demands, and ways to thrive.

Often in life we find ourselves faced with challenges. Accepting Christ, serving in ministry, trying to be good, and meet the needs of others can place us under the weight of doubt, anxiety, and fear.  This book is designed to draw you into deeper intimacy with God, shape your time while in His presence and aid you in developing practices that will evolve into daily habits.  It is in these daily practices that we create strategies to care for the soul. In my own life, when I have taken the time to care for my soul and engaged in habits that renewed me, I was able to be more peaceful, productive and content.

We all have strengths and weaknesses. I invite you to think about the areas you can grow
