    Beginner real estate agents may require more training than their courses provide. It depends on how extensive and involved you get in your education to become an agent, as well as whether you want to advance your career by becoming a broker or appraiser. Even if you only want to work as an agent part-time while raising your children, having tips and effective strategies will help.

    This book will use information from the beginner’s guide and the tips and tricks guide to help you narrow your focus on successful strategies.

    Topics covered include getting started, developing a residential sales strategy, and putting on a successful open house. All of the strategies discussed in the following chapters will need to be customized for your specific location. They are only suggestions and are not intended to be a step-by-step guide for conducting your real estate business. A variety of factors can influence how you approach a deal. Every transaction is unique, from the clients to the market. If you become fixated on a strategy because it worked for your first sale or because you read about it in a book, you may never make another one.

    You must always decide whether you want to practice residential or commercial real estate. If you begin in residential real estate, you can always take additional education courses to transition to commercial real estate later.

    After deciding whether to go commercial or residential, consider the income bracket you want to target. Is your neighborhood’s median income? Do you have a lot of foreclosures, vacant homes, or potential renovations in your neighborhood? Maybe the cheapest house is half a million dollars? The strategies you will use are also determined by the income bracket you wish to work in.

    Good luck with your real estate agent job search. Your industry has a lot of room for expansion. You will be successful if you learn how to sell and constantly adapt your strategies to the situation.
