Princess Fire Rose and the Honey Rose Elves: Rose Elf Stories, Book 1

About this ebook
Fire Rose, the princess of the red rose elves, is quite different from what you would imagine an elf princess to be: she eats a little too much and doesn't fly very well – but she is full of energy and good ideas.
The rose elves live in the flowers of rose bushes in the middle of a large garden. One day, Fire Rose discovers a yellow rose bush at the other end of the meadow. Here she meets Princess Honey Rose and the yellow rose elves.
The Fire and Honey Rose elves quickly become friends. Together they go on a treasure hunt. New games are invented. A rainy Midsummer night's party can still be a success.
But above all, Fire Rose has to deal with the hostile rose elf Bloomelia.

Princess Fire Rose and the Honey Rose Elves - Eva Markert
Birthday
On a warm Sunday in May, the first bud on the rosebush opened and Princess Fire Rose was born.
Still a little drowsy, she peeked through the red petals. The world was beautiful! The birds were singing, and fleecy clouds greeted her from the spring sky above. Sunbeams caressed her face, the trees waved their branches at her, and countless daisies laughed in the meadow.
Princess Fire Rose climbed out of her flower and looked around. Another bud burst open, and then another and another, more and more, and in every flower a Rose Elf was born.
The princess shook her black curls, stretched, and smoothed down her bright red tulle dress. It was exactly the same colour as the flowers on the rose bush. She unfolded her transparent wings awkwardly and rose a little clumsily into the air. Actually, like all elves, she wanted to simply float away. But that was easier said than done. Apparently, the princess had two left wings, because she was quite clumsy. No sooner had she flown up than she lost her balance, floundered about with her wings, arms and legs, and plopped down into the middle of a flower.
Oops!
she said.
Oops,
said the Rose Elf, who had just been born in the flower. My name is Scentine.
I'm Princess Fire Rose.
Scentine went to curtsy.
Fire Rose held her back by the arm. Stop this nonsense.
As you command, Princess.
I want to meet all the rose elves,
Fire Rose called out. Are you coming with me?
Scentine hesitated. I don't know if that's appropriate. I'm just a normal rose elf, and you're the princess.
So what? Besides, I don't feel like flying around alone. Come on!
She held out her hand to Scentine.
She still hesitated.
I order you to come with me.
Scentine grabbed Fire Rose's hand immediately.
It's not so bad actually, this whole ordering business,
thought Fire Rose. In any case, it's much faster than persuading someone.
Together they flew off and shortly after landed on a flower at the very top of the rose bush. Once again, Fire Rose turned out to be very clumsy. The rose swayed dangerously, and the elf sitting in it looked quite indignant. She looked Fire Rose up and down. You're wearing a crown. Is that supposed to make you the princess?
Yes. My name is Fire Rose.
What a great princess!
the Rose Elf replied snippily. You can't even land on a flower properly!
How can you talk to the Princess like that?
Scentine was horrified.
I'll talk as it suits me,
the elf hissed. And I couldn't care less whether Fire Rose is a princess or not.
The fact that the two were bickering, and because of her at that, didn't sit well with Fire Rose. Stop it!
she begged. I also couldn't care less that I am the princess.
She looked at the strange rose elf. Tell us what your name is instead.
Bloomelia.
Come with us, Bloomelia. We want to visit all the red rose elves.
Bloomelia, still grumbling softly, set off with Fire Rose and Scentine.
The next elves they met were the two elf boys, Velvian and Thorno.
Fire Rose introduced herself.
Well, well,
Velvian said. You want to be our princess?
What do you mean by ‘want’? After all, it’s not my fault that I was born first.
And because you were born first, you want to rule over us?
