Juniper

Once upon a time, about 2000 years ago, a rich man had a beautiful and pious wife. They loved each other tenderly, but despite wanting to have children, they did not have children. The lady searched the sky for them day and night. But no one came.

There was a juniper tree growing in the front yard of his house, and one winter day, when a woman was peeling an apple under it, she cut her finger and blood fell on the snow.

-Oh! she cried herself with a deep sigh.

And when she saw the blood, a monstrous melancholy entered her: If I had a son as red as blood and as white as snow!; I felt great joy. He had a feeling that the unpredictable would happen.

He entered his house, a month passed and the snow melted; in both months everything was green and flowers sprouted from the ground; at 4 o'clock all the trees were a jumble of new green branches.

The little birds sang, and their trills echoed through the forest, and the flowers had fallen from the trees at the end of the fifth month; and the lady never tired of spending hours and hours under the juniper tree that smelled so sweet.

His heart leapt with joy, he fell to his knees and was overwhelmed with joy. And when the sixth month had already passed and the fruits were already voluminous and juicy, he felt a tremendous serenity and stillness in his spirit.
