    Chapter 1

    Laying a Foundation

I found myself in the clothing material section of a major department store. You know the place where you can buy dress patterns and the material to make them. There were hundreds of patterns of every type dress, shirt, slacks, or special projects that one could dream about. I was looking for some Glitter because it was the Christmas season and I was working on a special project that needed some sprucing up with sparkles. I got into a conversation with the woman who worked in that department about all the patterns, which were present. The question was asked of her, Is it possible to make a dress, or for that matter anything, without using a pattern? She looked at me very thoughtfully and laid her finger to her temple and said in an authoritative voice, I’m sure you could, but I would hate to be the one to have to wear it! She laughed. I was puzzled at her response. I asked, Why? She said jovially, Well, it might look like a proper dress but it wouldn’t fit right in some aspect, or it wouldn’t look right in the design. Something about the dress made without a pattern would not be right! To be a proper seamstress you must use a pattern! Granted there are individuals who can sew without using the pattern, but they are very gifted individuals and are very rare among the sewing community.

I thought long on this encounter. My department store contact simply illustrates the proper study of GOD’s word, Whether you are studying the words of Jesus, a passage in the Old Testament, or the Revelation of Jesus Christ. To come to a GOD revealed proper Holy Spirit understanding of any scriptural passage ‘the pattern’ must be followed. Question, has GOD given us a ‘pattern’ one should use to properly study the Holy Scriptures? Ah! I’m glad you asked that question... Isaiah 28:9-13:

Whom shall he (GOD) teach knowledge? And whom shall he (GOD) make to understand doctrine? Them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts. For precept must Be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there A little tongue...But the word of the LORD was unto them Precept upon precept, line upon line... here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.

How does one receive Holy Spirit endowed doctrine and truth? How does a seamstress make a proper dress? The ‘pattern’ must be used; the Isaiah 28 principle is the pattern and must be followed. If the pattern is not used then the end result will be one of erroneous conclusions. The end result might look like a proper dress, but it cannot be worn because it doesn’t fit properly. No matter how hard you try to make it fit, how she adjusts the fabric upon her body, it is improper and cannot be used for sound doctrine and truth. How can anyone come to a sound interpretation of a Bible symbolic passage if the ‘Word of GOD’ is not allowed to interpret itself? Any other type of ‘pattern’ used in Bible study except the one delineated in the Isaiah 28 principle, will result in wrong conclusions and errors in applications if one chooses to support biblical study upon other men’s conceptions, church traditions, long standing church ideas. Then the ‘pattern’ used will result in a dress that looks like a proper dress, feels like a dress, outwardly a ‘dress’ form is seen, but when the dress is worn, it will not fit properly.

The Hebrew term ‘precept’, TSAV (tsawv), from the root word TSAVAH (tsaw-vaw), this means an injunction, commandment, and precept. The term ‘line’ QAV (kawv), which means a connecting cord especially for measuring. When a seamstress is making a dress she lays out the rough material (the Bible), and takes the pattern (the Isaiah 28 principle) and carefully lays out the pattern, measuring precisely, fitting it properly, then cutting (the Holy Spirit) the material to fit the pattern. She wouldn’t cut the pattern to fit the material, but yet so many individuals try and do exactly that when they are trying to study the Holy Scriptures. GOD’s word should be studied by subject, carefully comparing scripture against scripture until the right meaning is revealed. This means that every piece of evidence must be placed alongside the source to see if it has influence upon the meaning of the source scripture. Let’s get practical and use a very well-known piece of material and see, using the Isaiah 28 principle, if we can glean a true meaning of the verse. But I warn you, when we start this process sometimes a ‘totally’ different explanation might surface in controversy to traditional thinking upon the source scripture. Are you ready? All scripture in this book will be taken from the King James Version (if the scriptural passage is not marked then it is quoted from the King James Version KJV).

Following is the piece of material we will subject to GOD’s ordained method of study using the Isaiah 28 principle…

    Revelation 8:1...

And when he had opened the seventh seal there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour.

The pronoun ‘he’ is a direct reference to Revelation 6:1, where it defines for us who ‘he’ is ...when the Lamb opened one of the seals... Revelation chapter 5 reveals to us that the ‘Lamb’ is ...the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David...in the midst of the throne stood a Lamb as it had been slain...the four beasts and the four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb... The reader should be reminded that it is only GOD in the person of Jesus Christ who accepts the worship of men (Exodus 3:5, Joshua 5:15). The ‘key’ word in this verse is ‘silence’. Once this word is understood for its true meaning then the understanding of the verse will become clear. Using the Greek dictionary in Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance, page 65, word # 4602 ‘silence’ is defined as SIGE (see-gay), to hiss, i.e. hiss or hush, silence. Word # 4601 is a derivative of 4602, #4601-’silence’ SIGAO (see-gah-o) from 4602, to keep silent, to keep close secret silence, hold peace. These definitions are revealing, but the true understanding comes when you compare every verse in the Bible with these two words in them. SIGE only appears one other place in the New Testament, page 928 in the main concordance under ‘silence’ reveals that word # 4602 appears in Revelation 8:1 and Acts 21:40,

"And when he (the chief captain, verse 37) had given him (Paul) license, Paul stood on the stairs, and beckoned with the hand unto the people (a great multitude, verse 36). And when there was made a great silence, he (Paul) spake unto them in the Hebrew tongue, saying,"

Now comparing the source scripture, Revelation 8:1 with Acts 21:40, we understand that this term ‘silence’ is referring to a great company who is present at the scene but yet silent. Now, is there a ‘great company’ present when the seventh seal is opened? Notice Revelation 5:11, which is just before Jesus starts to open the seven seals,

And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands.

These scriptures together, Revelation 8:1 and Acts 21:40 support each other in the meaning of the term ‘silence’. But there is more support to this valid line of reasoning. Notice the following, which is based upon word # 4601, SIGAO. This word appears three times in the following places (remember, this word finds its root in SIGE, word # 4602)...

    Acts 15:12,

"Then the multitude kept silence, and gave audience to Barnabas and Paul..."

    1 Corinthians 14:28,

"But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church..."

    1 Corinthians 14:34;

"Let your women keep silence in the churches..."

All of these five scriptures are referring to the same meaning for the word ‘silence’ a body of individuals who are in attendance, but are voluntarily silent. Traditional thinking on Revelation 8:1, concludes that all have left heaven and are on their way with Christ to this world to redeem men. Using the Isaiah 28 principle, we find this reasoning does not support the Bible interpretation as revealed in the previously supported biblical reference material. We, as freethinking individuals, must make a decision...1. ‘…will I continue to support poplar traditional thinking on Revelation 8:1?’, or 2. ‘…will I accept the Bible based conclusion supported by scripture?’ Just because, denominationally speaking, our stand has been in the traditional view this does not mean it has been correct in every aspect of the understanding of GOD’s written scriptures.

Symbol interpretation is directly derived from the Isaiah 28 Principle. By comparing scripture with scripture we can glean the correct symbol interpretation from the scriptures.

Let’s use another example to illustrate this point. The following is a passage of scripture from Ezekiel 34:29-31,

"And I will raise up for them a plant of renown, and they shall be no more consumed with hunger in the land, neither bear the shame of the heathen any more. Thus shall they know that I the LORD their GOD [am] with them, and [that] they, [even] the house of Israel, [are] my people, saith the LORD GOD. And ye my flock, the flock of my pasture, [are] men, [and] I [am] your GOD, saith the LORD GOD.

This passage is quite clear in its understanding as well as a very good example of symbol interpretation. The LORD plainly states that the ‘House of Israel’ is His Flock. And the LORD in this same passage interprets what He is meaning by the term ‘flock’ in the words "… And ye my flock, the flock of my pasture, [are] men," The ‘House of Israel’ in this passage are symbolically recognized as the LORD’s flock which is interpreted as …men… Here the term ‘flock’ is understood to mean ‘…men…’ The trumpets are with their symbolism, interpreted in the same way. We will see a symbol given to us in the trumpets and we must interpret that symbol as the Bible interprets that symbol by using the Isaiah 28 principle.

Many of our doctrines contained within our different denominations that have found places in church thinking throughout the history of the Reformation, where great light was revealed about the understanding of the scriptures to the reformers, but this disclosure’s only went to a point and abruptly stopped usually with the death of the reformer. Thereby the new denominations that were formed carried with them many erroneous conclusions that in much of the case are still present within their belief systems today. GOD tried to deal with these wrong conclusions when the first angel’s message was proclaimed in and around the mid-1800 Great reformation movement. Present in this period the history of GOD’s church the advancement of truth went in leaps and bounds. But, generally speaking, the majority of the people rejected these great advancements in scriptural understanding. Only a minority understood and accepted the great truths revealed. But, after this great religious awakening the cycle of scriptural understanding reached a certain point then abruptly stopped.

These religious movements that were born from the mid-1800’s forward became complacent, lethargic, and very comfortable in their scriptural understanding. Hence this general attitude now is promoted within many of the protestant denominations of today, We have all the truth! This attitude is a very dangerous statement. The Jews thought the very same idea. It took the Son of GOD to come in the flesh to reveal that their ideas were wrong and their scriptural understanding was not based upon the Isaiah 28 principle.

Need we have to wait for the Son of GOD to come again? So that He can revel to us once more the errors in our belief systems that are based upon traditional values and wrong suppositions? There are many areas where GOD is most willing to reveal great truths in counter of the many wrong conclusions already made by past investigators of His word. The truthful revealing will only be obtained by using the GOD ordained principle, and anyone, no matter where they reside, at the Biblical Research Institute of the General Conference, or at a religious Press, or within the limits of your kitchen table, who does not use the biblical pattern for scriptural study will make wrong conclusions because the pattern was not strictly adhered to. If you base your Bible study upon another man’s opinion instead of GOD’s written Word, then you will embark upon a road exempt of the Holy Spirit’s influence, guidance, and come to erroneous conclusions. Is it possible for a prophecy to have two fulfillments? One illustration of this concept is found in Malachi 4:5:

Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD:

One fulfillment we see is the ministry of John the Baptist and the second is found in the ministry of the saints near the close of probation just before Jesus comes in the clouds of heaven thus two fulfillments to the same prophecy.

Now where am I going with all this? There is a passage of scripture found in the Revelation that has been interpreted many different ways. This prophecy has lain at the heart of the Revelation untouched and covered by traditional church thinking. Men have attempted to push its symbolism into the historical time frame mold, also sometimes to push it symbols into earth type destruction scenario but the entire prophecy, as a whole, refuses to fit the ‘pattern of these farfetched’ explanations. Yes, I will agree that some of the prophetic symbols of this prophecy do fit small aspects of different historical methods of interpretation, but these facts are largely a minority when the entire prophecy is looked at and only certain passages of a selected portion is used and the rest of the passage is either ignored or the surrounding symbols are left untouched and uninterrupted.

The Seven Trumpets prophecy is the heart of the Revelation because it describes the upward road each must follow to answer the most vital important question asked in the Holy Bible, . . .who shall be able to stand...[through the time of the end]? Revelation 6:17.

Herein is found the greatest question ever posed to the human family, Who shall be able to stand? GOD has given us this vital answer in the symbolism of the trumpets. Here is where we find the answer in the explanation and understanding of these seven trumpets. Jesus gave us the understanding of these seven trumpets for those who will be alive in the very last days of this world’s history. The seven trumpets in the Revelation is our passageway through the most difficult time to be found in the history of this world.

…The most intense description of that time in history cannot reach the intensity of the ordeal that is before us… Jesus has promised in Philippians 1:6, Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ: This is our hope and this is our ‘grace’ found in the merits of a crucified and risen Savior!

You will come to the understanding that many took historical events and tried to line them up to prophetic scripture. Yes, some of the points do fit the historical timeline, but not every point of symbolism in the seven trumpet’s prophecy can and is explained through this disjointed method of interpretation. The major difference between this method and the Isaiah 28 principle is that GOD’s ordained method of understanding the seven trumpet’s prophecy interprets every point of symbolism perfectly. And the Isaiah 28 principle paints a most beautiful picture of interpreted symbolism describing Christ’s church during the last days of this world’s history.

Scripture stands alone in its understanding of the interpretation of this dramatic prophecy. In fact, the evidence of symbol interpretation in some cases is so overwhelming that the author had to discriminate and limit the interpretative scriptures to two or three per symbol. As you progress through this book, you will notice that as each symbol is addressed, scriptural support will be given to support the understanding of a particular symbol reference. It is not the object of this material to bombard the reader with excessive amounts of supportive material for a particular point soothe author does not want the reading to bog down to the reader.

Our understanding of these symbols found in the Revelation, as well as within the Seven Trumpets need to be interpreted by using the Isaiah 28 Principle and let scripture interpret itself where the understanding will manifest itself by the Holy Spirit through the Bible.

The bottom line at this point is whether the reader will remain in the traditional church thought processes based upon other men’s ideas and presumptions, or give the Bible the opportunity to reveal truth via itself by using the GOD ordained interpretation of a very beautiful prophecy by the Isaiah 28 Principle. If the reader chooses to remain in traditional suppositions, traditional prophetic thinking, then I would suggest that this book be closed shut at this moment and set aside. But I challenge the reader to study along with this discourse and if the reader would find any wayward conclusion(s) within its pages, then this book needs to be closed forever. Please feel free to inform the author if such a case presents itself to you.

Peter said it best in Acts 4:19 (NIV),

But Peter and John answered and said unto them (the rulers, elders, and teachers of the law, verse 5), whether it be right in the sight of GOD to hearken unto you more than unto GOD, judge ye.

For I cannot help speaking about the things I have been allowed to see and understand by GOD’s grace. I have had the privilege in the past to review many interpretative seven-trumpet manuscripts by other author’s. And without fail they base their whole premise either upon another man’s initial idea or some far-fetched shoot-em-up science-fiction end of the world explanation. Once the true Isaiah 28 principle of understanding the seven trumpets prophesy is understood, it places these other works far in the rear. The spiritual sanctuary centered message in which the seven trumpets prophecy conveys through the symbolism is given in the Revelation by Jesus Christ, Himself (...sign-i-fied it... Revelation 1:1 actually means ‘sign-i-fied’. Jesus ‘sign-i-fied’ the words of His Revelation to protect it as it was exposed throughout the centuries of Bible persecution).

The entire Revelation is a heavenly sanctuary message. 1. Notice chapter one verse 12 we see Christ among the 7 golden lamp stands of the Holy Place. 2. And again in chapter four where the throne room of GOD is shown. 5. In chapter 7:11 we again see the throne room of GOD mentioned. 6. Revelation 8:3 shows Christ in the holy place before the altar of incense. 7. As well as in Chapter 9:13 where Christ is again pictured before the altar of incense and 8. In chapter 11:19 we see the most holy place revealed and GOD’s law exposed to a fallen world. Three times in the seven trumpets, Revelation 8:3, 9:13; and 11:19 we see the ‘sanctuary’ mentioned as well as the description of the various pieces of furniture exemplified at each location. 8. In chapter 15:5 we see that the temple in heaven is opened. 9. And again in chapter 16:1 we see the temple mentioned just before the seven last plagues are to be poured upon the earth. 10. And finally in Revelation 21:2 we see the holy city of Jerusalem coming down from heaven wherein the heavenly sanctuary dwells. So we now know that in 10 individual places in the Revelation we find the heavenly sanctuary shown to us as the means of directing by faith our sins to our Advocate.

I approached this prophetic puzzle with an open mind, a prayerful heart, and let the Bible interpret itself. I would hope that the reader would adopt the same attitudes with this material. I earnestly tried to accomplish in this work the freedom of expression to allow the Bible the wisdom in revealing the proper understanding of the varied symbols and thoughts put forth in the seven-trumpet prophecy. The great veins of truth uncovered by this true method of Bible study is now given to you the reader, within the pages of this book. May GOD richly bless us both in our adventure together?

As we discover the unfolding petals of a ripening flower of truth we will understand that the entire trumpet message, Revelation 8:2 through 11:19, fits perfectly into already established truth. Truth is harmonious in all its applications. Let me illustrate this concept with an example: I want you to look around the room you are sitting in at this moment. Go ahead do it, and as you are looking at the rug, the furniture, the lamps, the pictures on the wall, the ceiling, and the walls in your mind let each of these objects represent a specific truth of GOD. Each truth is different and has uniqueness about itself, but yet it fits harmoniously within the entire room. Now, in your mind, turn off all the lights in the room. Now for the sake of this illustration let us move all the lights into the Four Corners of the room, one lamp per corner, the room is still dark in your mind. Now we have one very small light mounted on the ceiling and a dimmer switch mounted on the wall next to you controls it. The room is still dark in your mind, now comes the application of our illustration. As you reach up and turn on the ceiling light by the dimmer switch, just slightly, so the light just comes on. You can just make out the contents of the room, but not with much clarity, this was the condition of the church before the mid 1800’s. Truth at this point was only slightly illuminated, yes; some significant advances in the understanding of truth during the Reformation were made. But these advances stopped before they reached their full development, not because of GOD’s lack of enthusiasm, but because of man’s indolence in the study of His word. Now in your mind’s eye turn on only one lamp in any corner of your room of illustration. Has truth changed? Have the items in your room changed in anyway, except for more light, which now rests upon them? No, there has been no change in truth, only how the Holy Spirit of understanding now illuminates it. This point of our ‘parable’ now illustrates the church condition at the time of the Reformation. Few men illuminated known truth in a very different way, in a way, which was unlike any other way in the past. Generally speaking, the revelations of GOD through these men were rejected by the masses of that day. Our lamp in the corner can also illustrate the first angel’s message [Rev. 14:6], it too, was mostly rejected by the people of that day. Has truth changed in our room of illustration? Has any piece of truth altared in anyway? No! Only in the way it has been illuminated to the people. In your mind pick another corner on the same side as the first lamp and ‘turn on’ that lamp. Now the room illustrates the church’s condition after the Reformation. But, since
