Prologue

Bang. Bang. Bang.

Alexandra sighed as she hid behind a tree avoiding being shot. She, slowly, making little noise as she could, sped towards the thickest tree and climbed holding a branch after the other pulling herself up.

When she was high enough, she sat down and listened scanning the arena with her expert eyes.

The wind was playing with the leaves, flowers were sleeping while the moon was scattering it's light around carelessly as some animals ran around with no care in the world.

For a moment Alex envied them. They didn't have a pack to run, werewolves to feed or even warriors to train.

Some lights ignited in the distance catching her eye. She could hear her beta's voice in the distance telling several people that they were out of the game.

They were playing a game of 'hunter and prey' using real bullets. She knew they probably thought she was a monster for making them use actual bullets, but she needed warriors not puppets.

A bullet hurt like a bitch, she knew -she had taken many but...

Being shot at now will make them over come that shock at real war so they wouldn't freeze in a battle.

It was for the best, but they would probably never see it that way.

It might not have been one of the trainings that the warriors enjoyed but it was necessary, as the preys would learn how to camouflage and the hunter would learn how to track down their preys.

Alex's lips twitched in amusement as she saw a warrior chasing another. The hunter tried to shoot the prey who was making weird moves in order to avoid being shot.

Bang!

Alex winced as the sound of the shot rang out. It would take him more than a week to recover from a wound like that.

Sighing she rested her head against the tree trunk and stared at the moon, letting her thoughts wander around.

Something was wrong, something was terribly wrong.

Her wolf was pacing in her mind setting her on edge. Were there rouges around perhaps? Her wolf felt like it was running in her mind chasing its tail making her almost go insane.

What was happening to her while patrolling around the edges of her wood at two in the morning?

Perhaps the late nights snacks were really affecting her mind.

Despite knowing she was probably over worrying about the safety of the borders, she searched for her beta to inform him that they should do another round of patrolling around to search for any alarming movements.

Yeah, but why? Josh asked as he typed on his phone texting his mate -the lucky bastard.

I think someone is trying to get through the bordersShe replied frowning as she stared off into the distance.

But who would be idiotic enough to try getting into the warrior alpha female's territory

You would be surprised by the amount of suicidal people who would do anything to try to get rid of me The warrior female answered bitterly feeling a sour taste in her mouth.

Josh couldn't disagree with her,especially when they just caught two assassins in matter of weeks.

Even though, he shrugged trying to add some fun to the situation Who knows maybe this time someone will be trying to do something completely the opposite

Yeah, like trying to kill you She snickered.

Josh's smile dropped "Hey, not funny. Beside if I die then how could poor Martha live on "

In happiness and peace probably Alex rolled her eyes I don't know how Martha tolerates you

"Please, she loves me When he noticed that Alex wasn't even listening to him his face turned serious Should I call some warriors to check the eastern borders? Your eyes haven't left it for some time now " The beta asked as his body tensed ready for a fight at any second

Nah,I'm probably just over-But seeing the bush move again, she didn't wait.

She attacked.

Alpha, what's wrong?

Josh wasn't worried about her. After all she was the most dangerous being in existence,but he at least expected something more dangerous than this.

What is this exactly? Josh pressed his lips trying not to laugh at her though his eyes danced in humour.

Slowly Alex emerged from the bushIt's......a rabbit She answered quiet annoyed at herself for not identifying the scent correctly before attacking.

She growled in frustration and sat down holding the rabbit from its ear in boredom as it wiggled around in her hand trying to escape her hold, but it was no useI am not even hungry, do you want it?

SureJosh caught it mid air after it was thrown to him. He twisted the rabbit's neck and started pealing its skin"Now I'm pretty sure something is wrong with you. You never pass up a midnight snack "

It's morning actually She pointed out.

SmartassHe whispered under his breath then moved his hand dismissively All the same, it's still darkHe replied throwing the rabbit's skin away and sitting beside his Alpha who looked like she was losing her mind from worry and stress.

I don't know, I just don't feel well, I guess Alex answered rubbing her forehead and hitting the tree trunk with the back of her head hard enough to make it crack

She was losing control over her strength.

Uh-huh, maybe you should take a break, you have been working since, ever! You know what? I think you just need a vacationAnd to gain control before she destroys the whole pack.

For the first time in eight years Alexandra was actually tempted to do it. Beside the two incidents of the assassins everything was going smoothly.

In addition to that she couldn't remember the last time she took some time out.

You know what, you are right Standing up she dusted off her pants

I am?! He choked on a piece of raw meat

Did-did she just agree with him?

Dude! He should write it in a note or something! The day when the warrior female agreed with him.

Was she okay?

Oh, wait!

She wasn't.

Yup,maybe a few days of rest would do me some good. I even thought that the rabbit was a rouge, I think that is enough proof for both of us

If only she could hibernate and forget about all her responsibility and worries then she would.

Unfortunately, escaping life was not an option for someone like her.

Josh nodded chewing on a piece of meat Honestly, if I were you I would go to Alaska and throw my passport in the seaHis eyes lit up Or maybe somewhere a little warmer? I think no one would be able to find you in Australia He grinned to his brilliant idea.

Alex rolled her eyes more exhausted of his jokes than the day's effortGoodnight beta Waving a hand over her back and putting the other in her pocket she walked away

He swallowed the meatNight Alpha

Someone was in her office.

She could feel his presence lingering in there, though how he got in through her platinum sealed door without having her two million dollars sensitive emergency security alarm send her a notification was beyond her.

He couldn't be a part of her pack, she was sure of that. Last time it happened, she made sure to make an example out of him. No one dared to even breathe around her office after that.

Instead of going to the office through the door Alex went out of the whole pack house.

Running softly on the grass like a ghost , she reached the back garden of the pack house and stood under her office window. Bracing herself, she took several steps back then ran forward before jumping and climbing the stone wall as fast as her arms could carry her digging her nails that has turned into claws in the hard wall.

Holding the wooden base of the window Alex balanced herself on her arms holding her body in the air for a few seconds before jumping inside.

As soon as her feet touched the ground the sweet smell of chocolate and fresh woods filled her mind making her almost lose her balance from the mouth watering scent .

She smirked as her eyes darkened.

Part One

"H is nightmares, her dreams„

When destiny collides

Chapter One

The assassin holding the files froze as he heard someone jumping in through the window.

Shit. Shit. Shit.

No one is supposed to come in here at this time since all the guards were patrolling the other side of the small town. How did that person notice that he was inside? The window was already opened before he came in so it couldn't be something that raised suspection. 

Great, looks like he somehow got himself in trouble,again. The door was closed with the platinum lock since he didn't want anyone to get inside. The person behind him - or the demon as he would rather prefer to call him- was blocking the window. 

Looks like the clean floor will be covered with blood tonight.

Putting on a lazy grin he ever so slowly turned to the intruder. He better get rid of of him and quickly before he alert other people or he won't be able to to get out alive. As soon as his eyes found that person's eyes, his own widened in shock and his heart thumbed in his chest irregularly.

It wasn't a he but a she who got in.

And she was the most beautiful woman he has ever seen in his entire twenty one years of living.

Her eyes were amber honey glowing in the darkness beautifully lightning her face, her hair was brown and looked soft but was wild framing her face nicely making her pink lips more noticeable. She had a strong build and an even stronger vibe around her almost glowing giving her more attention than she would ever need with that petite frame of hers.

He was glad he could see her perfectly in the faint moon light

She was gorgeous with every possible mean.

Too bad one of them was going to die in the next minute.

Alexandra bit her lips to stop a gasp from escaping. Her mate was more than perfect. Black hair that made her fingers tingle to check if they were as soft as they appeared to be. Sharp jaw that could cut diamond, high cheekbones, wide shoulders, tall ,lean and muscular, basically her dream man. The inner argue of her wolf was so strong clawing at her wanting to take a part of her control to jump him but Alex held her back and kept admiring her mate.

Him and his beautiful silver eyes that kept her memorized and the way he way grinning, it was dreamy.

He was a walking miracle for her.

Something she never thought would happen in her existence, but....

Wait, what was he so happy about?

She narrowed her eyes at him suspiciously. He didn't plant a bomb in her office, did he? You know, it would take exactly three seconds for me to bring everyone here and to arrest you... or even kill you Alexandra stated as she lazily leaned against the opened window crossing her arms against her chest and blocking the only way out.

Alex fought the argue of smiling at himAre you insane?

Insanely in love with you? Yes,yes I am His husky muscular voice answered her making her weak at knees. She was glad that she was leaning against the window for support.

Alexandra shook her head as her lips twitched. Her mate was suicidal ,that was obvious. He was flirting with her when he knew he could die any moment.

Alexandra dragged her eyes around his body checking him out as she sniffed the air.

He was wearing black from head to toe and weapons were hanging from every single part of his body. He was a human but no....not exactly, his scent was so weird like human but not.

It was kind of... Off

Alexandra titled her head to the side. It wasn't the first time to see someone like him, they have already caught two before.

He was an assassin.

What do you think you are doing assassin? Alexandra calmly asked

Alexandra chuckled Well sorry mate ,but that is not going to happen

He titled his head to the side How do you know that?

"Because I am the Alpha female "

A cold smile froze on his face as he slowly but surely took two knives in his hand. If he could remember anything from the mission file that was sent to him, it was a warning of the Alpha Female.

And he never gets warnings. He was too much of a professional to get any of those after all the time he worked for the agency.

Do you even know who the Alpha female is? What she is?

The assassin shrugged A leader of a mafia gang or some shit like that Now he definitely regrets not doing a background check on her

So, you got assigned to steal me yet you have no idea who or what I am

Why should I? He asked shrugging his shoulders as he started toying with the knifes while planning his escape route I am not ordered to kill you, only steal Which was the only reason he didn't give much thought to do a background check on her.

Too bad you're going to regret tha-

But the assassin didn't give her a chance to finish that sentence as he attacked.

Alexandra jumped quickly to the side avoiding being slayed by him. Her quick reflex was thanks to years of training.

Alexandra almost grinned ,he was good...really good and that somehow made her proud. She just hoped that she would be alive by the end of their encounter to tell him that.

As he ran towards her she took one of the swords that was hanging on the walls of her office and spun around just in time to stop the daggers from shredding her to pieces.

She raised her leg and kicked his stomach making him take several steps back. Her eyes widen ,he should have flew to the wall behind him and smacked into it.

Who was he? Or rather what ?

Either he was a very very strong human or not human at all and he was just masking his scent .

He didn't wait for her to recover but threw one of the knifes at her. Alexandra didn't have time to think, so instead she caught it in her hand a few centimeters away from her eye.

Alexandra hissed in pain as blood dripped down her hand, the knife was so damn sharp that it cut her hand open.

He certainly didn't see this coming!

Alexandra threw her sword at him. He moved to the side quickly but before he could do anything something hit him so hard that he fell down, breath knocked out of his lungs.

Alexandra pinned him down, holding his two hands with her own above his head and one of her legs on his back while the other pinning his legs with his face pressed against the cold floor.

Alexandra's shoulders relaxed in relief now that she finally got hold of him. She was actually terrified of acedentally hurting him while she was trying to avoid being stabbed by him.

Now, How about we make a deal, mate? Alexandra asked, her wolf was itching for a good chase in the woods after that adrenaline pump.

She needed to get him out before she shift in front of him because then her wolf would take over and she would be powerless to stop her.

He stared at her, even with her petite frame that wasn't even half his ,she managed to pin him down in matter of seconds . He wanted to slap himself to wake up from this dream.

He was being soft on her.

Why the bloody hell was he being soft on her?

He should have used his poisoned stars, if he did, she would have been dying by now. He cursed himself for being soft on the woman who he have just saw and was going to kill him.

She must have bewitched him.

Sure sweetheart, whatever you want Maybe he could distract her enough to push her off.

You have a death wish ,don't you? She asked in amusement whispering in his ears watching in great satisfaction as shivers ran down his body.

The assassin licked his lipsMaybeHe chuckled But it depends on your deal right now

OkayAlexandra knew she was going to regret what she was going to do but if she doesn't get him out now then her wolf will come out to play and with her wolf in control it will turn into a bloody mass murder just like what happened eight years agoHow about we play a chasing game. Cat and mouse?
