About this ebook

In these confusing days in which we live, Appointments of Messiah brings understanding and peace. These set appointments, while beginning over 3000 years ago, have largely been ignored by the world. A small fragment of Jewish people have continued to observe these set times which caused them to be known as Jewish set times. But in Leviticus 23 of the Bible, it states that these are the Lord's set times. The exciting idea is now people around the world  are beginning to honor these set times and find the meaning behind all of life.

    Dedication

In my life I have known so many good people. I was very blessed to have good parents and grandparents, as well as good extended family members. None of them were perfect but they all loved me and always treated me well. All of them encouraged me to do well and treat others well and with respect. I have a wife that is so very supportive and helps me in all I do. I have many good friends from all around the world. So I can say I have had a really great life filled with wonderful loving people. So I dedicate this book to them but mostly to the One who makes all those blessings possible. It is to You Abba I dedicate this Book because it is really for YOU.

    About the Author

All Scripture, unless otherwise indicated, is the New King James Version. The complete NKJV Bible was published in 1982 by Thomas Nelson, now HarperCollins.

    Foreword 1

Appointments of Messiah is among those rarest works of scriptural scholarship—one that appeals to the mature, well-studied Believer, as well as the newer student in whom the Holy Spirit is just beginning to produce a deeper understanding of the Bible in all its glorious fullness. It is not hyperbole to suggest that the revelation of Yeshua/Jesus as being at the center of God’s Word from the very beginning—Bereshiyt/Genesis—will radically transform your walk of faith in Him and remove any remaining doubts that He is indeed …the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

In this work, Dr. Shadwick has chosen to illustrate this profound truth through examining the Appointments of Messiah, also known as the Feasts of the LORD in the Torah. Astoundingly, the vast majority of Gentile Believers in Yeshua have been instructed that these incredible and deeply significant observances from Yahweh are only of importance to Jewish people and thus of no concern to them. I am confident, however, that once the reader has invested the time to explore this book with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, they will be fully disabused of that notion. In the beloved account in Luke 24 of a post-resurrection, unrecognized Yeshua appearing to two disciples on the road to Emmaus, we are told that the Master brought forth the most profound teaching imaginable: And beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, He expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself. While we can only imagine and be awed at the prospect of receiving a firsthand exposition of the Scriptures by the Author Himself, in reading this book, one will certainly share in the wonder of discovery in the revelations that He shared.

    Foreword 2

    Pastor Benny,

Well, I am undone by the love of Yeshua! I have been given revelation while reading this book. I can’t wait to share it with you all. More than what he’s done for me, I can’t wait to see how he will use your book for many others to have their eyes opened to the truth!

Well, I’ve been having repetitive dreams for a few years, I think. And he keeps speaking to me in the dreams about the keys to the kingdom. I have sought him and prayed and listened to many messages on this subject. But none of the messages seem to bear witness within my spirit. As I’m reading this book, I get the impression they have thrown away the very keys that unlock the prophecies hidden in God’s word. Then one of my favorite go-to Scriptures, Proverbs 25:2, came to me right after I had this impression contained in this book.

Proverbs 25:2 It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, But the glory of kings is to search out a matter.

It all jumped off the pages and leapt out at me!

I then began to weep as I remembered the times that I had dreamed about the keys to the kingdom, and I had sought the LORD for answers! I asked the Lord at this moment, so these (appointed times) are the missing keys that I am to share with others?

Although the past few years, I have been studying about all the appointed times and keeping them as I learn, I continue to learn little by little! Trying to teach them as I felt led!

But what a Revelation, to know that I’ve been dreaming (for some time) repetitive dreams about the keys to the kingdom, and I had no idea that this was connected to His appointed times! This is what the church is missing! This is why we have been blind and deaf! My heart is so full! I’ve been searching for years when it was right in front of me all along!

    Foreword 3

I would like to congratulate my friend Benjamin on the fruition and publication of his book. Not only do the contents of the book encourage me, but the work that he has placed within it is a testament to his ministry and life. A part of me could see Benny on a beach relaxing in this latter part of his life with Jimmy Buffett on the radio. That would be easy for a man like him to do. Even justified from a certain perspective.

    But he doesn’t.

In fact, he does the exact opposite. He does the hard work.

His work for God is sincerely convicting to me. You can tell that he has a heart for this kind of work. Not only does he share the gospel, but he teaches, corrects, and constantly fights for the truth.

See, Benny’s life is not just paired with ministry; his life is ministry.

The first time I ever met Benny was at a gala for Options on main. My mother had raved about his heart for commitment to the pregnancy resource center, his joy, and especially his humor. She told me over and over that we needed to meet. She thought we would make great friends. And she was correct.

When approached by Benny he inquired that it was nice to meet me, quickly followed by the question, Do you know Jesus? I responded, Yes, I do. He then looked relieved.

We then met again on a pro-life march across Paragould. We talked the whole way about what God had done in our lives, and he quickly brought up the idea that he believed God was creating something for us. And he was. God has beautifully orchestrated our fellowship and work.

Since the time I met Benny, we have recorded podcasts together, worked on strategies of ministry, and continued creating for God’s glory. God uses my youth and Benjamin’s wisdom for the best of his plans, and I must say that it is a beautiful sight.

I have learned a lot from Benny. He has a gift of joyfulness that he carries with him at all times.

I am eternally grateful for the fellowship Benny and I have had in such little time, and I continue to look forward to what lies ahead. I am also blessed to be surrounded and learn from Godly men such as he, Brother King, and Mark Walker.

Thank you, Benny, for the humbling opportunity to be a part of your book. This, your work, and friendship mean more than you know.

    Foreward 4

No matter the area of the world in which we reside, historically, we as people tend to abide by or maintain certain traditions. Traditions can vary based on geography, culture, age, worldview, etc. Those traditions (whether in thought or action) can encompass nearly any aspect of our lives, and often, we may not be aware of why we do (or think) what we do…we act on tradition. In and of themselves, traditions are not necessarily good, bad, right, wrong, beneficial, or harmful. It’s just what we have always done. Fair enough…but why?

What is behind the traditions that are the norms of our particular lives? What things in our lives might we be believing that maybe we should be questioning? We live in a time of notable unrest as we regularly are made aware of woke ideologists lashing out violently and tearing down/removing symbols of systems that they believe are inappropriate. Personally, I am opposed to the destructive mindset of their theology of erasing that which they don’t like. History recorded is just that, a record. Understanding what has brought us to where we are today can help shed light on what we have done right and where we have been wrong. With that knowledge comes choices—do we need to reexamine our traditions, views, and ways of life, or go on as we have been? If we need to make changes and if we are willing to do so, then the real work begins.

If the need for change is related to trivial, inconsequential matters, the effort may not be worth the net result. Should the possible change be associated with weighty matters, such as honoring the will of the Creator of the universe, the sustainer of all life…in my opinion, definitely worth reviewing to see if my traditions align with the desire and directives of my God. It isn’t an easy process, but knowledge adds to our armor and helps to fortify us on the journey.

Dr. Benjamin Shadwick’s book is designed to help recognize the widely overlooked fact that the Old and New Testaments are a perfect marriage of content and direction. At the core of the partnership and embodied through the feasts/appointments of God (which aren’t just for the Jewish nation) is Yeshua/Jesus as Creator, Redeemer, Servant, King, and Bridegroom.

Everyone is invited to be a part of this marriage feast. You get to join from the bride’s side, which is uniquely the Lamb’s side as well!

    Introduction

Isaiah 57:15 For thus says the High and Lofty One / Who inhabits eternity

Indeed, the LORD looks at all eternity at a glance. He is so great, so mighty, that he is beyond understanding or finding out. Yet, because we love Him, we search. That is most likely why you would busy yourself with this humble work before you. You have a real desire to know the LORD more closely, more passionately. So now I ask a question of you: if the LORD is outside of time and is in eternity, why does He have use of appointments? That is the premise of this information. To take you to the very appointments of GOD.

Isaiah 43:13 NASB Even from eternity I am He, and there is no one who can rescue from My hand; I act, and who can reverse it?"

Now, if we are going to learn anything about the LORD, it has to be truly from the LORD. This can only be done by the LORD’s Holy Spirit to us. In the same way, true worship of God only happens in this way.

John 4:23 NKJV But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.

In order to hear the Spirit of God with certainty, you must first be born again. There are many people who confess to being Christians, believers, followers of Jesus, etc., but they are not born again.

John 3:3 NKJV Jesus answered and said to him, Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

To be born again, you have to accept the Gospel of Yeshua (Jesus), which is that He is the Son of God who came to Earth and lived a perfect, sinless life. He was crucified for the sins of the world and buried on the same day. On the third day, He resurrected from the dead and became the first fruits of the dead. By faith in what He did and repentance from your own dead life, you are born again. There is so much more which can be said about this, but the main thing is if you don’t know you are born again, you should talk to another Follower of Yeshua and let them help you to know.

After you have established that you are born again, the next step is to be filled with the Holy Spirit. This is the way to truly learn from God. I will speak throughout this book about my own personal experiences, which bring confirmation to the truth I hope the LORD will teach you. Please know that God does desire to fill you with His Holy Spirit. Meditate on these verses:

Luke 11:5–13 And He said to them, Which of you shall have a friend, and go to him at midnight and say to him, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves; 6 for a friend of mine has come to me on his journey, and I have nothing to set before him’; 7 and he will answer from within and say, ‘Do not trouble me; the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give to you’? 8 I say to you, though he will not rise and give to him because he is his friend, yet because of his persistence he will rise and give him as many as he needs. 9 So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 10 For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to
