Mr. Affleck was real strict about the farm-work, especially if I didn't do it every day.  When you get to nineteen you kind of lose interest in the menial jobs you do, especially when you have your eyes on pastures new, if you'll pardon the expression.

It was a seasonal job a little away from my home, so it kind of make sense to take up his offer of living on site, and Mr. Affleck was pretty laid back outside of my work hours.

Regardless, while I was living under Mr. Affleck's roof he wanted me to obey his rules, and one of those rules just happened to involve contributing on the farm.

I was always on milking duty—it was something I'd done ever since I started—and even now Mr. Affleck expected the exact same standards of me.  It got so that I had a quota to fill and if I didn't hit it there would be serious repercussions.
