About this ebook

Since sin entered into the world, the earth has been slowly dying. This should not be surprising; our bodies are made up of the same material of the earth and they are subject to death. There will be major cataclysmic events in the near future that will drastically change the surface of this planet. Mountains will be split in half and separate, huge valleys formed, the eco-system of this planet greatly degraded. There will be intense heat, supersized hailstones, violent earthquakes, and millions of acres burned. Man will be in survival mode! Will you survive? Will you escape?

...and they shall not escape - Gail B. Lee

    The Planet Earth

The earth’s surface is going to go through major changes—changes that are not for the better but for the worse. It’s like a condemned building; you have to tear it down in order to build a better one. It is going to happen whether we think it isn’t right or it is cruel. We have been forewarned and are given the chance to escape. Let’s take a look at some of the warnings that the prophets of the Lord had said.

God spoke using the prophet Isaiah about the calamities that will come on the earth. Let’s examine a few of those.

Look, the lord lays waste the earth and devastates it, and warps its face, and scatters the inhabitants of it. (Isaiah 24:1)

The earth [land] shall lay waste, devastated, and plundered, looted: for the lord has spoken it. The earth lies parch and withers, the world [earth] is feverish and withers, the prideful people of the earth fade away. The earth is also corrupt under the inhabitants of it, because they have passed over the laws, bypassed the ordinance, shattered the eternal covenant. Because of this has the curse devoured [consumed, eaten] the earth, and they that live on it are suffering; So, then the inhabitants of the earth are burned [charred] and few men remain. (Isaiah 24:3–6)

The earth is broken, distressed, the earth is split open, shattered, the earth is caused to be moved, toppled. The earth shall stagger like a drunkard and shall sway like a [grass] hut and the rebellion of it shall be a great weight on it, and it shall fall and not get up to continue. (Isaiah 24:19–20)

We read in Isaiah, chapter 13 the following:

Therefore, I will shake [cause a disturbance to] the heavens [region above the earth] and the earth shall be made to quake out of her place, in the wrath of the lord of hosts and in the day of his fierce anger. (Isaiah 13:13)

Look! The day of the lord comes, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to establish the land [earth] a thing of horror: and he shall annihilate the sinners [sinful, wicked ones] thereof out of it. (Isaiah 13:9)

And the rivers of it shall be transformed into pitch, and the dust of it into brimstone [sulfur] and the earth [land] of it shall become burning pitch It shall not be put out night or day: The smoke of it shall rise forever: from generation [descendant] to generation [descendant] it shall be dried up [be parched]: none shall travel through it forever and forever. (Isaiah 34:8–10)

The last chapter and verse we will look at in the book of Isaiah (about the earth) is chapter 51.

Lift up your eyes to the heavens and look at the earth beneath: for the heavens shall vanish away like smoke, and the earth shall wear out like clothing, and they that inhabit it shall die as gnats: but my salvation shall be everlasting [forever], and my righteousness shall not be shattered. (Isaiah 51:6)

Now we will look at how God spoke through the prophet Joel concerning the earth.

And I will give wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, fire, and columns of smoke. (Joel 2:30)

    Joel chapter 3 states:

The sun and the moon shall be black, and the stars shall store their brightness. The lord also shall roar out of Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem, and the heavens and the earth shall quake: but the lord will be the refuge of his people and the stronghold of the children of Israel. (Joel 3:15–16)

God spoke through the prophet Amos, saying in chapter 9:

And the Lord, the lord of hosts, he that touches the land [earth] and it shall melt, and all that live on it shall mourn: And it shall rise totally like a river and shall sink down [drown], as by the Nile river of Egypt. (Amos 9:5)

God said through the prophet Ezekiel in chapter 38:

So that the fishes of the sea and the birds of the air and the creatures that moves along the ground and every man shall quake [tremble, shake] at my presence, and the mountains shall be torn down and the cliffs shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground. (Ezekiel 38:20)

    In chapter 39 it states:

And I will send a fire on Magog [the land of Gog] and among them that dwell safely in the distant shores [islands]; and they shall know that I am the lord. (Ezekiel 39:6)

The last prophet of God that we will look at for this topic is Zechariah.

And his [the lord’s] feet shall stand in that day on the mount of Olives which is over in front of Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall be divided in the middle of it toward the east and toward east and toward the west, and there shall be an exceedingly great valley: and half of the mountain shall be moved toward the north and half of it toward the south. (Zechariah 14:4)

The New Testament has also given us warnings on what is to happen here on earth. It is recorded in three of the Gospels what the Lord Jesus Christ said about the future of the earth. The things that will happen. We will look at the Gospel of Luke.

Then he [the Lord Jesus Christ] said to them [his disciples], Nation [Gentile] shall arise over nation [Gentile], and kingdom over kingdom: And violent earthquakes throughout places, and starvations, and pestilences, and fearful events and great signs [signals] shall there be from heaven. (Luke 21:10–11)

The last book of the New Testament, the book of Revelation, was written by the apostle John as he was shown what was going to be.

And the second angel [messenger] poured out his vial [bowl] on the sea, and it became as blood of a dead person and all living life died in the sea. And the third angel [messenger] poured out his vial [bowl] on the rivers and springs of waters; and they became blood. (Revelation 16:3–4)

And the sixth angel [messenger] poured out his
