Make Your Own Footprints in the Sand

About this ebook
No one, even myself, ever thought I would and could write poetry. Yet with God, all things are possible!
I have seen more tragedy and death in my life than I would hope no other person ever has to go through. However, through these things, God has brought me out victorious. I have not been perfect, no, not even close. I have fallen short many times in my life, yet God is always there to forgive and guide me home. I can never thank Jesus enough for all He has done for me!
After the loss of my wife of forty-three years, I felt so alone and hurt. God comforted me and sent to me a wonderful Christian lady to be my love again. It has been a wonderful miracle to see how God does care and loves each one of us and knows what we need in this life.
"Making Your Own Footprints in the Sand" was my first real poem and has always been my favorite, and it continues to help me and guide me through life's good days and stormy days.
At the end of this book, I give several thoughts that God has given me over the years. I hope and pray they bless you as well!
These poems, I pray, will achieve the following:
* Give you peace in things we'll all go through in life.
* Help you think about the "good things" that are in life.
* Build your faith and confidence in the Word and in God.
* Inspire your mind to write, preach, teach, or just give you some joy.
Thank you and God bless you for reading!

Make Your Own Footprints in the Sand - Jack Thompson
Three Crowns
Life, righteousness, and glory are three crowns spoken of as a reward. Are there three, or is it just one?
Paul, James, and Peter speak of these crowns given as the prize for this race we run.
James, the author of we are saved by faith, says to endure temptation with success and get a crown of life.
He says to continue to persevere through challenges and valleys, and above all endure through strife.
Paul tells there is already a crown of righteousness laid up for me if I only continue to look for Him.
Keeping a constant eye on the clouds awaiting that glorious appearance, this is not a life on a whim.
Peter tells us to anxiously await the chief shepherd to receive the crown of glory that will never fade.
Our great God and Savoir is to reward us with a crown of glory. Oh, for this we have all so prayed.
I read about these crowns we are to receive and remember the one our Lord had to bear.
Such suffering and shame our Jesus went through on Calvary so one day a crown we can wear.
I know we all want to see streets of gold and gates of pearl, wearing these crowns that cost so dear.
The splendor of heaven will be amazing, yet I long to enter the throne of God with a great cheer.
Whether we receive three or one crown, entering our reward, one thing I will do first, not missing a beat.
The greatest thrill I will have is to walk boldly to the throne of Jesus and lay my crown at his feet.
Big Man on Campus
This is a new big man on campus, walking on streets of gold,
Graduated with the highest honors on that campus so lovely to behold.
Adorned in a letterman jacket, under his cap and gown,
Instead of the normal cap, there is a beautiful crown.
Big Son was gone much too soon to please most,
Although, Son is walking in perfection and has a boast.
I am with my Lord and all will be fine,
For the Master is very soon to call come and dine!
I will be waiting at the gate to see you very soon!
Do me a favor and bring Sonic ice and a spoon!
Jesus said I will give you peace that passes all understanding,
Son is safe, happy, and well, with joy unspeakable that is outstanding.
Big Son always stretched forth so much love and compassion,
Always will remember his high praise and worship with great passion.
I am almost jealous in a funny kind of way,
You received your master’s degree and your invitation to the great feast day!
Christmas time Again
It’s Christmas time again,
The tree is surrounded by gifts, and all look forward to that Christmas morn.
We, I am sure, are ready for it to be over and not deal with the strain,
It is a day we build up and enjoy since the day we are born.
Yes, that time is here again that we try to smile and have some joy,
Not thinking of the costs and monies that have been spent.
Families gathered around eating, smiling, trying not to annoy,
Then the day is gone, and we ponder where all the time went.
I wonder now as this day approaches, have you thought of the real reason though?
Beyond the gifts, all the decorations, and time spent with family and friends new and fresh.
Do not ever forget a special gift given to all mankind so long ago,
This precious gift given by God, a savior born in a manager, God in flesh.
Yes, Jesus is the reason for the season, a gift so we can be saved and forgiven,
A Savior born to give all His perfect sacrifice, so we can choose to live and not fall.
What better gift can we ever receive than the one so freely given?
Give thanks to our God and Savior, Jesus Christ, for the most perfect gift of all.
Clouds in the Sky
Look up in the sky, and you can see,
Shapes, signs, planes, and dogs we can all agree.
Remember the days of sitting on a hill, watching the clouds passing by,
Faces appear, and I see Grandpa’s big nose up in the sky.
Some clouds are dark and ominous that carry sound and light,
Others are light and fluffy like cotton candy so, so white.
Even the thunder cloud is a thing of beauty and power,
Pointing and laughing at the things we see just before the shower.
Tell me it is not a joy to be the first to notice the angel flying,
The elephant, with his trunk so long and soaring without trying.
Just remember this in your walk. Do not hang out under a shroud,
No one looks up with a smile in the sky with no clouds.
Eyes as Bright as a Rainbow
There is something about looking into the eyes that are bright and full as a rainbow after the storm,
You can see the heartache and trouble that lie around, but the eyes refuse to conform.
All through life, there are floods of heartbreaks along with joy and love that will abound,
A cardinal principle
