About this ebook

Discover the hidden truths of Christianity in "Christianity and Reincarnation." Delve into the historical evidence that challenges the common perception that reincarnation is incompatible with Christian teachings. Unearthed from the sands of time, this book reveals a fascinating journey through the early years of Christianity, exposing a forgotten doctrine that was once central to the faith.

Author Douglas M. Dubrish, in a conversational voice, takes you on a compelling exploration of the Doctrine of Reincarnation. Historical records suggest that the Catholic Church, in its initial 400 years, taught and embraced reincarnation, believing it was a principle passed down from Jesus to his Apostles. However, in 543 A.D., political motivations led to its removal from Christian doctrine.

Recent archaeological discoveries, including scrolls akin to the famous Dead Sea Scrolls, shed light on the Essene Community's teachings, with Jesus and his family belonging to a splinter group of Essenes. The author sheds light on the deliberate omissions of references to reincarnation from the Bible by Catholic monks, and the subsequent impact on Christian beliefs.

The book provides a comprehensive Discussion Guide for reading groups, encouraging readers to engage in thoughtful conversations about the forgotten aspects of Christian history. Despite potential resistance from traditionalists, Dubrish courageously presents evidence that challenges the established narrative, offering readers a chance to rethink their beliefs.

Explore the extensive research linking the Essenes, Pharisees, and Sadducees to the widespread belief in reincarnation during Jesus' time. Learn about the challenges faced by scholars in restoring the Dead Sea Scrolls and the Nag Hammadi Library. Uncover the role of church politics in suppressing information that could reshape our understanding of Christianity.

Dubrish also shares a personal near-death experience that inspired a lifelong quest for answers. Drawing on over 50 years of research, the book navigates through theological discussions, providing readers with a thought-provoking perspective on the eternal nature of consciousness.

"Christianity and Reincarnation" invites readers to question established beliefs, offering a fresh perspective on the Christian narrative. As the author challenges the status quo, this book encourages readers to reflect on their own beliefs, prompting a deeper exploration of spirituality and the mysteries of life and death. In a world where curiosity meets resistance, this book stands as a beacon of enlightenment, inviting readers to reconsider what they thought they knew about the history of Christianity and the profound teachings of Jesus.

    About the Author

    Introduction

During the time of Jesus, reincarnation was a belief that was widespread among the Jews, which includes the Pharisees, Sadducees, and the Essenes. Jesus was raised in the Jewish tradition. Epiphanius, an early church father, described two divisions of Essenes, the Nazareans in the north and the Osseaens in the south. Jesus, and his family, was part of a splinter group or reformed order of the Essenes living in the north. The Essenes were the oldest Jewish sect, from which all other sects eventually splintered.

Josephus, another early church father, has said that the Essenes, together with the Pharisees and Sadducees comprised the three most notable sects of Judaism. And the Essenes had a settlement of some nature in nearly every town.

Archeologists have unearthed many clay pots in the Judean Desert containing ancient scrolls like those famously known as the Dead Sea Scrolls of Qumran (found in 1947), and the Nag Hammadi Library (found in 1945). Now that English translations have been - for the most part - completed, we can learn details of the life and times when Jesus walked and preached during the gospel period.

If anything characterizes present Dead Sea Scrolls research, it is that scholars are exceptionally reluctant to form a general consensus behind any restoration that would correlate to Jesus and the gospel period. Church politics and church ideological commitments create serious problems when facts are introduced back to the public, which were deleted many centuries ago. The public has a right to ask why the deletions.

Just with the Dead Sea Scrolls, over 15,000 fragments have been found in 11 caves that shed light on the history of Judaism and early Christian life.

Since the discovery of the scrolls science has moved forward in leaps and bounds. Ultraviolet light, DNA sequencing and other methods are now used to put together the 15,000 piece Qumran jigsaw puzzle into what many call the greatest of all archeological finds.

The Internet is opening up a new world of Christian culture by presenting the English translations of the Dead Sea Scrolls and other newly unearthed accounts from the time of Jesus.

Will these new findings be presented on Sunday to the congregations? If evidence regarding reincarnation was found to be taught by Jesus to his Apostles – would you ever hear about it on Sunday morning from your minister, priest, or pastor? No, you wouldn’t. They wouldn’t know how to present it to the congregation since it was removed from the Bible more than 1,570 years ago. Yet this would be an important piece of the gospel – don’t you think? I do. And I have put on the pages to follow what I’ve learned as: food for thought. After all, you have to answer to yourself regarding your beliefs. I have always said there are as many religions in the world as there are people.

Eventually everyone has one thing in common, no matter what race, religion, or other beliefs that you may have. We all die. I did. Now I know that sounds a little strange because how could I be writing this book if I died? I had what is called a near death experience. Actually, there wasn’t anything near about it. The fact is: I died when I was a young boy. It changed me, although I didn’t know it changed me until I became an adult. It changed me because my perspective on many things in life became different from that which is commonly accepted by others.

Over the last 50 years I’ve read many accounts of people, who have had a near death experience, and once again, they died - there was no near about it. After reading the many accounts, and comparing those circumstances to my own experience, the results directed me on a path to find answers to many questions about who I am, what I am, and what you are. Regardless, of whether or not you accept the contents of this book or go through life without any interest in religion, one fact remains clear – you will die.

My consciousness departed from my earthly body and went somewhere. After a brief visit -and encounter- I was purposely and willfully returned to my personage where my consciousness re-energized my body and I began coughing and regurgitating the water - from my lungs and stomach - that had suffocated and killed me.

As a young boy, having such a traumatic experience, I didn’t have the mind to do any reflecting on what happened. That came later, much later.

This experience was 63 years ago, and I generally kept the incident to myself because of ridicule. Now that I’m retired I can share what I learned over the years in hopes that it will help people understand that our consciousness does live on, just as Jesus taught.

Since I know that fact to be true, then what we call death is actually a transition back to – what I would consider - our normal state of being. We are eternal beings according to scripture and Christian teachings.

God created us in his image… he gave us a consciousness. Our consciousness, according to original Christian teachings, returns to earth many times to learn lessons to enable us to grow our consciousness with understanding. At some point it will be unnecessary to return, and we will remain as a mature consciousness in what is known as third heaven. Again, this is basic Christian teachings.

As I point out in the book, if you are of a protestant religion (i.e. Baptist, Methodist, Congregationalist, etcetera) your sect is an off shoot of the mother -Roman Catholic religion. Let’s look back in time before the Catholic religion was established, and the Original Church of Jesus Christ was on the earth. What was in the original Gospel that has been removed?

Also, I want to take this moment to insure the reader that I believe that Jesus Christ is our Savior, the Messiah, and that he did die for humankind’s sins. He did this to point the way of salvation for our consciousness.

You may think this book is heresy, but that would be because of what the Catholic Church did to the Bible before the Protestant Reformation. Then King James, and others, did their translations and that is the Bible that you hold in your hand.

Reincarnation is part of the gospel, and the Catholic Church excommunicated people, put people to death, and removed it from being taught over 1,500 years ago. Archeologists have literally unearthed this important aspect of the Gospel from the sands of time. We have learned that Jesus was an Essene and the Essenes believed in reincarnation.

Perhaps the next time you see someone that looks uncannily familiar, or you take a journey somewhere that seems really comfortable to you, or maybe you see an object in an antique shop that causes you to dwell and stare at it for awhile – that déjà vu moment might likely point to a past event… from a memory of a lifetime ago.
