    Acknowledgments

To Kenneth and LeCora, the first recipients of the WOTD, thank you for your love, support, and belief in me. What an awesome and humbling responsibility to be gifted with you and entrusted to train you up in the way you should go! You continue to be my main source of inspiration! I love you!

To my husband, Kenny, I know there is a God! Thank you for believing in the God in me and encouraging me. I love you!

To my dad, Lee; my siblings—Ella, Alfreda, Troy, Larry, and Tasha—and my niece-sister-friend, Tamika, I love you! You have stood by me, held me up, encouraged me, met my practical needs, and believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself. I am truly grateful for your presence and participation in my life. Ma would be proud!

To the WOTD Group, you ladies are so awesome! Thank you for your testimonies and words of encouragement. I share this moment with you! I love you!

To my special friends, my sisters and brother in Christ—Donna, Talaya, Jacqueline, and Jeff. Thank you for always being only a phone call, text, or Marco Polo away, for believing in the God in me, and for giving it to me straight (in love, of course). I treasure our bond more than words can express! I love you!

In my prayer time, God instructed me to text my children scriptures with an explanation each morning to start their day, and I have been doing that ever since.

At a family Bible study four months later, I told my sisters and niece that I had
