The Madman and His Dame
Said the madman to his dame- weigh
your gold! See you have none.
Now sink before my words a done.
a shocking glance cried nay!
Unlike a slave, thou captured bird
there is no right; you will not fly.
To think my equal be, the twinkle of your eye
glancing free! I shout absurd!
Your words can never bind my mind
it thinks, sees, and feels the pain
of none to lose and all to gain.
Equality and freedom for all kind.
So strike your laugh within a game.
My spirit be the prize.
No, I’ve won my rank, ’tis you that finally dies.
Oh, madman! Your hangman is the dame!
I Can’t Tell
If you knew,
what I know,
you would leave
for lack of understanding.
Perimeter
This perimeter but a boundary
of times impressive due.
Lost in space; more massive
than the galaxies loom.
Here the sound, a siren song.
Thus before coming back,
receive the promise of
tomorrow’s passive tongue.
Memories of my time spent
yet very blind.
The conquering of the moon.
The losing of a tune.
Sliding up to here, to find
a poem with little rhyme.
Death
Have you ever asked?
Why am I to die?
Reaching for the sky
and you catch the sign:
It is but a state of mind!
Garden Gate
It came unto me,
why can’t I be?
Why can’t I see what my mind
always needed to see?
And set me free.
They have forced a new start,
Why can’t I part?
I can’t part from the laws
they have passed on to me.
Would set my mind free.
Now I’ve been told.
of a new world; we must believe.
It will set our soul free, to dance
in the garden of make believe.
I know it can’t be.
Then it came unto me.
They have forced me to see, I said!
The laws are a cut to tranquillity.
I’ve seen the gates of nonreality.
But I’m not dead!
Merlin’s Interruption
Just how funny ’tis to fly
caught in a night’s dream
when Merlin came by.
You should have seen them
each one on a pole.
How could they stand there
riding row on row?
Each one seemed enchanted
must be zapped by a wand.
I’m going frogging down to
Jason’s pond and you.
Questions they amuse my soul
Stating the scheme: Why,
Sitting on a pole!
Because of You
Must be a form of death,
for living without you
leaves me in great need of rest.
Sitting, I listen for every sound.
A hint to your presence.
Without me peace must abound,
for there are no open signs.
Heartbreak
If I called you,
would you want me,
why not say you love me more than yesterday.
But I know now,
you don’t need me,
so I feel there’s just one thing I need to say.
It’s I love you,
need to have too,
all the promise, pain, and heartbreak of each day.
Myself
Tempting, ah, yes, it must be.
For within me,
I’m left to see
the astonishment of present time
and the arrangement of deepening tunes.
Tomorrow
Casting workers for the loom,
while playing to a silent tune.
Light bursting into landscape bloom.
Lie there watching.
What is the fate?
Listening, why not wait.
Messengers speak of new debate
and thought of nearing doom.
Wind
Just creative expressions
of times we have known.
The hills over there—
memories of wind that has blown
across the sandy dunes.
For his love must be shown.
Truth
Why not tell the truth.
I’m thinking of you.
Your image is transparent
and engraved within my mind.
Loosely
She seems a little bit unbalanced
still I go there.
She’s the type of person I could never live without.
And she’s mine to hold.
When I’m close to her.
Remain
Seems very dumb.
Just look what you’ve done to me.
I’m waiting for you;
you come. During the delay,
just ease the monotony.
Seems years must have past. Alone,
a month has advanced.
I’m wanting you too;
At last. During sojourn
my mind’s locked in a trance.
Why can’t you stay?
Don’t go away.
Remain: Please, just for today.
