How I Became A Junkie
()
About this ebook
When writing How I Became A Junkie, our vision was to do something that had never been done before-a movie that deals with a lot of topics such as drugs, alcohol, a little racism, payoffs, control, lies, as well as a little brotherly love between two guys with different backgrounds. One of the guys goes by the name of Michael. Michael was a black kid that played basketball for a high school in Memphis, Tennessee. He was the number one player in the nation, and he choose to stay at home and attend the University of Memphis regardless of all the other scholarships that were offered. Michael was a good guy who had good grades, but it wasn't enough to get him a full scholarship. Without the basketball scholarship, Michael would not have attended college.
The other guy was a white kid from the California area. His name was Steven Emerson, and he was the youngest of three. He was different from everyone in his family. He was the only one that wasn't prejudiced. After he graduated from private school, he didn't want to be a part of the family business, and that's when all his troubles begin. Steven wanted to attend a college in the south, and that's why he chose the University of Memphis. After arguing with his father about his future, school was beginning and there was only one room left and that was the one that Michael stayed in. Michael was a freshman, so he wasn't required to stay with the other basketball players. When Steven and his father finally reached an agreement, Steven began living his college life, and everything was smooth until Steven's father found out his roommate was black and that's when all hell broke loose.
Now we know you have seen these types of movies before but visualize this as an animated movie that deals with all these different topics that captivates and educates the minds of kids as well as adults.
Visualize this vision of being the first animated movie in this form about college life and everything involved with it. Share our vision.

Chapter 1
This is dedicated to all our brothers and sisters all around the world who have their own addictions, as well as dealing with racial inequality. It doesn’t matter what type of addiction it might be, pain is pain; ups and downs are ups and downs. Take it one day at a time and stay around people that care, love, and support you. In our opinion, God is the key to every deliverance. Keep your head up and stay well!

This is a story about Steven Emerson, who was born into a rich family. He was the youngest of three children. He had one brother and one sister. Their names were Howard and Sharon respectively. Steven’s mother’s name was Mary. She was a rich but simple housewife with low self-esteem. His father was Jerry who was God to all of them. Jerry could do no wrong. He had all the power; he was the brains and the voice of the family. He was the kind of man that believed the world belonged to him and his kind only. Jerry was prejudiced and rude to everyone he thought was beneath him.
Growing up sometimes can be very difficult for kids because of the influence their parents sometimes have over them. Steven’s brother and sister grew up believing that money and power were the key to the world, but Steven always believed things to be different. His parents, especially his dad, taught them to dislike any other race except their own. Growing up, Steven’s parents didn’t like their kids associating with other kids if their parents were not as wealthy as they were and of course those of color. Howard and Sharon grew up with the same attitude, but Steven was different. His parents, along with his brother and sister, didn’t understand how he could be so different. Steven didn’t see the color of a person’s skin. He only saw the person within.
Attending private school after private school, Steven, Howard, and Sharon never learned the true value of life and how precious love really is. They never knew about normal people and the way normal people had to work for a decent life. They only knew about the way their parents made money and being around people with lots of money. It was never about their choice. It was always what their parents wanted especially their dad.
As time passed by, Steven began to be his own person who has his own idea of how he wants to live his life. He had come to the point in his life where he now understood that there was more to life than money and power. Meanwhile, Howard and Sharon made no changes in their lives. Howard never grew up. In other words, he is a Yes Man.
Sharon lives in the shadow of her mother who has no mind of her own. Howard and Sharon are so far up their father’s butt that they can’t tell daylight from darkness. This is his story.
Steven was in the process of finishing his last year in school, and he’s wondering why other students at other schools were planning for their prom and he’s not. One day, Steven and his family were eating dinner, and Steven seemed so down, and his mother noticed his unhappy spirit. She asked, Is everything all right?
He looked at his mother and said, Yeah, Mom, everything is just rich.
While eating, Steven’s father slowly raised his head and looked at Steven to make sure everything was all right, but he didn’t say anything.
Steven’s mother said, What do you mean by that statement?
Steven said, Nothing, Mom, nothing. I guess I’m just wondering about something.
Steven’s mom replied, Wondering about what?
He looked at his mom with a funny expression on his face and answered back, Mom, why are we so different from other families?
His father stopped and said, Steven, I’ve been listening to you, but you haven’t made any sense in what you are saying.
Steven said, Dad, why have we always attended private schools, and why didn’t Howard and Sharon go to a prom?
He turned to Howard and Sharon and asked, Didn’t you guys want to go?
They looked at each other and said nothing because those two didn’t want to say anything that would upset their father.
Steven’s father interrupted him by saying, Steven, what’s wrong with you? Don’t we give you everything that you need and everything that you could ever want?
