Mighty Women of Africa - Yemu Phiri

    INTRODUCTION

It is no secret that a good education has the power to transform a life. More girls in Africa are now getting an education than ever before. Although progress is being made, more work still needs to be done to address cultural and religious barriers that disadvantage the girl child.

My love for the African continent and passion for education is what inspired me to write this book. I sincerely hope that the stories in this book will not only appeal to the readers, but they will also inspire them to get a good education, follow their passion, dream big and work hard in order to lead better lives.

When girls are educated, their countries become stronger and more prosperous.

This was something that my mother took a long time to understand and forgive her parents. Thank God things have changed since my mother’s
