Introduction

I received this special gift years ago. My husband was watching television while I was enjoying my quiet time: meditation with the Lord. I was thanking Him for our granddaughter, Emily. She is our miracle baby. I said, You know, Lord, Emily is more than precious, but what word describes how I feel in my heart?

Instantly, He impressed upon me these words. She is more than precious; she is a little treasure. As I said those words to my husband, I was compelled to reach for a pen and paper. After I reached for the pen and paper, within fifteen minutes, my first poem was written. Up to this point, I had never written a poem in my life. It seemed I could not write the words fast enough.

I was laughing and crying all at the same time for what I had received. I told the Lord I did not know where I was going with the words He was giving me, but I would follow Him anywhere He took me. Somehow, I knew more poems would be written. I believe with all my heart this beautiful gift is His way of walking me through life's valleys that have occurred since then and helping me through the tomorrows that are ahead of me.

Some of my poems are very personal, yet I feel they are meant to be shared somewhere. If any of the poems can touch even one person's life as they walk through their valley, I will be happy. I give God the glory for the outpouring of these words He has blessed me with. The more I write and continue to develop this gift, the greener my valleys are becoming.
