The Unshakeable Woman: How to Walk Through Difficult Times...to Enjoying Your God-given Purpose
()
About this ebook
In August 2018, Cheryl experienced a major shift in her life. That shift was divorce, after twenty-six years of marriage. In March 2019, she experienced yet another, the world's pandemic with COVID-19. As many women she had met along her personal journey asked how she kept smiling, her answer was, "Unshakeable faith." She realized that this was indeed the faith that God has called us to hold in our hearts, during the good times and the not-so-good times. A realization that both she and other women needed "tools/resources'' to encourage living with unshakeable faith. In December 2019, The Unshakeable Woman Podcast was launched in order for women to share their stories of triumph and testimony and to encourage other women on their journeys. Les Brown, her childhood-to-adult mentor, encouraged her second book, The Unshakeable Woman: The Shift Is Here.
Love. Forgive. Live unshakeable.

About the Author
This book is dedicated to my mother, Joan J (Wooten) Peaks; to my three children, Chandler, Chad, and Chase; and to my amazing sisterhood, sister-cousins, adopted dad, and the community of friends in the Santa Clarita Valley, Southern California.
My mother is the strongest unshakeable woman that I know! Thank you, mother, for teaching me from an early age that the battle is not yours, it's the Lord's.
You are the epitome of a strong tower
in the midst of adversity. As a young girl, I watched you walk and grow in your power. You helped me to understand that no mother is perfect, but she is always connected to the soul and the spirit of those whom she birthed. Thank you for your patience and guidance, when I needed to learn patience with people and those around me. You showed me how to be quiet, in the midst of confusion and chaos. You were the woman who walked before me and consistently showed how to exhibit discipline and hard conversations that I needed to hear. Most importantly, I learned, through you, how to talk less and give God the power to fight on my behalf. The Shift was not my battle, but it was the Lord's.
Our children are my three heartbeats. Each one also has walked on a new journey, since the Shift. As this was not your choice. But know that God always has a greater plan. You all have unshakeable qualities and gifts to give to the world. God knew that this journey would take place. God knew that we were all on a road to learning more lessons about life, to prepare us for the unknown future. I pray that as you grow into adulthood, you will understand why it is important for you to keep living, keep smiling, keep moving, and keep the not-so-great stuff out of your pathway. Know that I love you dearly and that you know that God has such a great purpose for each of you! You were designed for greatness! I'm grateful to your father, for together three beautiful babies, now adults, were brought into this world.
I couldn't breathe without my no drama mamas
and my sistas.
These ladies showed me what love your neighbor
means through consistent care of each other as we all grew over the past couple of years. Each one is experiencing different Shifts, at different times in life, and each one is reaching back to care for one another, as sisters.
To my adopted dad, Wooten, who had the world on his shoulders since my Shift…and currently, while I write this book. He found space to pray with me and care about my well-being. He has been a constant elder in my life, and I am grateful for him opening his life, family, and front door. I'm grateful for my family and zillions of cousins. We are #Wootenstrong!
To my biological deceased father, who I sat in forgiveness with in 1992, I have come to understand that parents learn how to parent, with what they are dealt with in childhood. The conversation seemed to go on for hours, but the only words that I recall were, I only treated you in that manner, because that is how my father treated me.
I never quite understood the magic recipe to what a loving marriage looked like.
I only knew what I needed. Things that money couldn't buy, the knowing and feeling of a sanctuary, and a feeling of being safe and protected. I'm still learning the process of loving everything about me so that I'll have enough to share with others.
To my Santa Clarita Valley sisters and community family, you have humbled me. There were days when I had no words for your expressions of continuous encouragement and support. You are women of many faiths, backgrounds, and nationalities. You are people who care for humanity. I will always have love for each and every one of you. There are too many to name, but I'll give special hugs to my Westridge
