21 Days with Mom and Me - Raquel A. Myers

    Day 1

    Proverbs 1:7–9

    A Prayer for Wisdom

I was not raised in a Christian home; I was raised in a religion that believed in God and good morals, prayer, and weekly confessions—nothing wrong with that. My mother was a woman who believed in God and took us to church, and we followed the teachings of that religion. My mom taught us to respect our elders and to live a life of integrity, and she modeled that; she modeled a woman who took care of her home and her children and kept order at home.

When I was raising my daughters as little girls, I found myself modeling some of the same principles my mom taught me and my sisters. In fact, on two occasions God spoke to me and reminded me of the vows I made to Him when I dedicated them back to Him as babies. Whatever God needed to refine in my life, as I gave myself to Him, He gave me the grace and wisdom to do what I needed to do as a mother, no matter the season of life I was in.

    Declaration

Lord, in the name of Jesus I declare that You have made me wise.

I declare that my daughter lives a life submitted to Your instructions and in obedience to Your spirit.

I declare that my daughter’s thoughts are submitted to You, and I declare that she walks in humility and not pride.

    Day 2

    Proverbs 2:7–8; Psalm 84:11

    Living Upright

There are consequences for every decision we make, good or bad. I remember being afraid for my daughters to live a life so out of control. The world seemed to offer them so much, and it did not all look good. I did not want
