About this ebook

This book contains daily devotions regarding various topics that Christians may encounter on their journey. When I started writing this devotional, God put the idea in my heart to write it as if the reader and I are sitting around a campfire having a heart-to-heart conversation about the things of God. I've always wanted to write a book that truly connected the reader and writer on a personal level. In this book, I share poems and short stories drawn from my personal experiences, though many can relate to these experiences. It also includes related sayings and Bible verses to encourage togetherness and growth. I hope we can all learn and grow from the words in this book.

    About the Author

    Anger

Anger is one of the strongest emotions. It comes out of heartache, pain, and frustration. It comes mostly from a place of unforgiveness for others as well as for ourselves. When anger introduces itself in a moment most of the time our action is on the ugly side, and we all know what comes after we blow up. So how do we counteract it? It is to not sin in our anger. When we sin in anger, it's like a wild fire within our bodies. Sin is the gasoline that accelerates the fire. It has a life of its own and will not back down or subside without help. We strongly have to let go and find the peace that passes all understanding. This is different from the anger Jesus had inside His Father's house. That was righteous anger. It also was a controlled fire in a direction which was not out of hatred but out of love and respect for His Father's house. Truth be told, that's the kind of anger we need in our humble hearts.

Anger is a way of life and so is sin because we are born into it. Let's do our best not to let them intertwine.

    —Ephesians 4:31 (NIV)

    Time of Peace

When asking for peace it can happen in an instant. But how do we accomplish it when in a rush? The peace that passes all understanding is not complicated when our mind is focused. We just have to envelop ourselves into a state of mind that is ready. We have to allow and trust God to handle what we can't. But most times that's not the first thing on our mind. So, let's take the time and think while saying a prayer. It's going to be okay! It can be said soft and quiet, or bold like a lion, a roaring crying out in the midst of a raging storm! From where Jesus started to where He said, It's finished there was peace. How much peace that passes all understanding was Jesus portraying in the midst of His crucifixion? What was going through His mind? I certainly don't think our pain can measure up to His but we have come close to it.

Cooler heads will prevail, but peace that's from heaven warms the spirit.

    —Philippians 4:7 (NKJV)

    The Day of Words

Be mindful of today, of the words we say, because we can give life and take it away. We can make someone happy and put a smile on their face. Or we can turn it all the way around and speak hate. Into the place where love resonates (thumps of thumps), in every second of the day, we can speak life or take it away. We didn't realize sometimes the impact when as a child we made fun of others. Saying to someone they are looking bummy, not knowing what's going on in their life at home. But the real tragedy is when he or she grows up doing things and becoming someone who they weren't supposed to be. Even though God knows which road we will follow, still it's a very hard pill for
