About this ebook

The kingdom of God is quickly approaching, but what is it going to be like? The Gospels give us an indication of what to expect, but most people don’t believe all the parables that Jesus told his disciples and the Jewish people. It is going to be a lot different than most Christians think. I invite you to read what is in this book and have your Bible with you.

    Preface

There are presently 206 nations in the world based on UN membership systems. Of these 206 nations (states) the sovereignty is not disputed by 190 nations. Sixteen states whose sovereignty is disputed. Thirty-three of these countries are under some sort of monarchy ruled or partially ruled by a king, queen, prince, princess, emperor, or sultan. Some have a democratic form of government, others a socialistic form of government, and there are others of a dictatorship. Whatever type of government each has established, it is coming to an end. Soon and very soon, the whole earth will be under the authority and rule of the kingdom of God. The kingdom of God is going to be set up here on earth. His kingdom will be the last one on the earth. His kingdom will last for eternity to eternity. This book is written to inform the reader what is written in the Holy Bible about God’s kingdom. We will especially look at all the parables Jesus taught the people and his disciples. We will be looking at some of the prophets of God in the Old Testament and a few of the epistles written by various apostles in the New Testament. In the Old Testament, we will be looking in the books of the following prophets of God:

    Isaiah, written about 698 BC.

    Jeremiah, written about 588 BC.

    Daniel, written about 534 BC.

    Zechariah, written about 520 BC.

In the New Testament, we will be looking at the following Gospels and epistles:

The Gospel according to Matthew, written about AD 38.

The Gospel according to Mark, written about AD 65.

The Gospel according to Luke, written about AD 63.

The Gospel according to John, written about AD 97.

The first Epistle of Paul the Apostle to the Corinthians, written about AD 56.

The first Epistle of Paul the Apostle to the Thessalonians, written about AD 52.

The Epistle of Paul the Apostle to the Ephesians, written about AD 61.

The Epistle to the Hebrews, written about AD 63.

The second Epistle of Peter, written about AD 65.

The Revelation, written about AD 96.

The Lord Jesus Christ taught mostly by parables. A parable is a short pithy saying. Pithy means having substance and a point. A parable is also an example and a brief story with a symbolic meaning. I believe most Christians will be surprised with the contents of these parables. Don’t be afraid with what you read, but be glad that Jesus forewarned us so we can modify whatever needs to be changed in our lives.

    The Dream

We will start with a brief history. God selected the people of Israel to be his people. They were to be an example to all the other nations how to live and serve the one true God. He brought them to the land of his choice to live and prosper.

After some time, the people rebelled against God’s ordinances and started living as the other nations around them. They started worshipping false gods and sacrificing their children to these inanimate objects.

God sent to the people of Israel prophets to warn them that if they didn’t turn back and serve him and love him that he was going to have another ruler come and destroy their cities and cause the children of Israel to go into captivity. Some listened to the prophets, but the majority did not, and into captivity they went.

In 605 BC the Babylonians under the rule of Nebuchadnezzar invaded Judah and started deporting the Jews to Babylon. The next diagram shows the Babylonian Empire at its peak.

Daniel and his three comrades were young when they were taken to Babylon. Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah found favor with the king and were given the position of standing before the king. It was God who had given these four children knowledge, skill in all learning, and wisdom. Daniel had also the understanding of visions and dreams. Daniel was to be used by God mightily in Babylon.

The king Nebuchadnezzar had a dream that he couldn’t remember but was very upset about. He called for his magicians, astrologers, sorcerers, and the Chaldeans to reveal the dream to him and to give an interpretation of it. They could not, so the king ordered that all the wise men of his kingdom be killed. This included Daniel and his three comrades. Daniel requested for some time from the captain who went to slay him and his comrades so that Daniel could seek God for the mystery of the king’s dream. Daniel also requested that his comrades pray to God for an answer. He gets it and
