()
About this ebook
Have you encountered problems or disappointments in your life?
You are not alone. Every day, we deal with these things, but God can help us if we will only trust Him. In this book, experiences from over fifty years of living are shared to offer encouragement and hope as we deal with life and the challenges it presents. We are all human and make mistakes. This book helps you to identify where you are and what you can do about it through prose, poems, and a plan to help you deal with whatever comes your way.
Why do you need to carry a gun?
People who carry guns often say it is their right or for their protection. A gun can protect you, but this book helps you learn how to give God the gun for not only your protection but your salvation as well. In His Word, God says, "Come unto me all who labor, and I will give you rest." The Word also states, "The Lord is my light and my salvation, in whom shall I fear?" Neither scripture implies inaction, but both encourage your reliance on God. So give the gun to God and see what He can do for you.

Welcome to the World
Throughout history, God has demonstrated to us that He keeps His promises (Jeremiah 1:5). However, the problem for us is that God does not always keep His promises to us according to our timetable. He has a plan for everyone. If we believe that God is omniscient, omnipotent, and omnipresent (all knowing, all powerful, and everywhere present), then why is it often so hard for us to believe He, indeed, is able to keep His promises and that His solutions
to our everyday crises are right? It is simply because we are human and can’t always understand the whole picture from our limited perspective here on earth. This collection of prose and poetry related to the prose details my personal struggle with God and life. Some of these reminiscences are sad, some questioning, some speak of love, some of loss; but they all speak of God’s unfailing concern and love for us. Throughout my life, God has brought incredible joy, along with seemingly unbearable tragedy and disappointments. However, despite of all that has transpired, I am convinced that God’s plan for my life has been good but not yet fulfilled. God speaks to me as a friend and guide. He says to me, Trust me. I keep my promises.
This book is a testimony to the phrase of which God always reminds me and has become a guiding principle in my life: The Lord is my light and my salvation, of whom shall I be afraid
(Psalm 27). A promise made is a promise kept. God never fails, and my life has been the struggle to keep my part of the bargain.
Everyone has a life to live. Everyone experiences disappointments. Everyone has—at one time or another—been ignored or rejected. Everyone—in one form or another—has encountered love and experienced its joy, excitement, and disappointments. Everyone has felt the joy of giving help to someone in need. I share these brief moments with the reader in the hope that they might find strength and encouragement, knowing they are never alone, and there is a Savior who is not only a comfort and loving person but also is pretty good at managing situations if given an opportunity and trusting in Him.
Life is what it is. We all make mistakes—things we have done, opportunities we have lost, perceptions of what could have been, and recollections of those who have prevented us from becoming or realizing goals we visualized. The enemy
