About this ebook

To oppose Satan, we have to first be able to recognize him. Very few people have ever actually seen Satan personified. To the average, ordinary person Satan manifests disguised as ordinary, everyday-life frustrations. This can make recognizing him a challenge.

Most of us, unfortunately, lack the training to distinguish between satanic attacks and natural setbacks. We often mistakenly assume that we are dealing with "life" when, in fact, we are wrestling with demonic attacks. How Satan Manifests: Recognizing Satanic Activity in Everyday Life exposes Satan's secret hiding places using common, ordinary examples from everyday life to train readers to see through his smoke screen and expel Satan from their lives.

How Satan Manifests: Recognizing Satanic Activity in Everyday Life is a practical, how-to, easy-to-read, step-by-step training manual for anyone wanting to walk in the authority they possess in Christ and expel Satan from their life.

Every spiritual warfare library should include a copy of this book!

    About the Author

    Foreword

"My words shall not return to Me void, but will reach to the far corners of the earth and empower My people everywhere to resist and defeat Satan.

Most Christians today run in the face of evil. They believe that they can hide from him. They believe that they can distance themselves from Darkness by keeping to themselves. But they are deceived.

My people are not prepared. They live pretentious and passive lives of denial. They are content with feeling safe in the imaginary worlds they have created for themselves. They believe their current existence will go on forever; that there will always exist this enchanted, gated barrier separating them from Evil. They are deceived. They are out of touch with reality.

Satan is no respecter of boundaries. He has sent spies into their enchanted forests. He has, in fact, already infiltrated their worlds. Some of his maneuvers are blatant and obvious, but most are not. Most of his attacks are subtle and insidious.

The only way to overpower and outsmart Satan is to resist him. Spiritual warfare is merely defending one's territory when Satan crosses into it. Christians must reclaim that foregone commodity which has allowed Satan to maintain his power over them. That precious commodity is human free will.

One's lack of will-power leaves one power-less. Christians are being overrun and held captive by Satan because they do not exercise their will to resist him. They give up. They run. It is easier to let him win than it is to put up resistance. You see this lack of will played out as parents abdicate to their spoiled children. They give up. They surrender their parental authority.

You see this played out as spouses let Satan loot and pillage their marriage without putting up a fight. They give up. They run from their commitment. It is simply easier and less work to let Satan have his way.

Satan takes whatever he wants in the world today because he faces no opposition. No one ever challenges him. No one ever stands their ground. My people have lost their resolve. Satan does not have to fight for souls today; he merely strolls around earth gathering them up like seashells on an abandoned beach.

Satan did not gain control of this world through fierce battle, but by merely squatting in it. People simply pretend to not see him. People walk around him without objecting to his presence. They have convinced themselves that they are safe and that he is harmless. He is not harmless; that is a lie. He is the Father of Lies.

My people need to be trained to defend their inheritance. They need to be shown the openings through which he enters their world and how to close those openings. This is your ministry: preparing My people to fight back.

The Great Battle is drawing near. Soon it will not be enough for people to merely look the other way. The hour is approaching when the confrontation will be bloody. My people are not prepared. They have grown spiritually fat and lazy in their bubbled lives. They are out of spiritual practice. They are out of spiritual shape. They are out of spiritual will-power.

Together, we will raise up and empower a resistance faction from among the people. We will lead them in the revolt to reclaim what is rightfully theirs. Your role is to train them."

This is the word that the Lord gave me on November 29, 2018. My calling now is to educate and train God's people to stand against Satan. I minister to the ordinary, average Christian who is tired of Satan constantly disrupting, sabotaging, and frustrating their everyday life.

I am very grateful that I am not an expert on Satan. All that I have learned about satanic activity over the years is far more than I ever wanted to learn. Still, I have learned a lot of things about this subject. The purpose of this book is not to entertain people with stories about Satan, but to equip Christians with information that can be used to recognize him in the routine frustrations, setbacks, and stresses of everyday life.

And there are many lessons to cover. So, let us get started…

    Part 1

    The Truth About Satan's Power

    Satan's Power

    Overview

I am told that the secret to hunting wild game is good camouflage. Hunters disguise themselves to look like the animal's natural habitat. I am told that it is easier to kill something if it cannot see you. This is exactly how Satan operates. He employs that same camouflage expertise when he hunts for souls.

Satan prowls the earth seeking men to devour. He sets out each morning fully intending to feast on fresh kill. His strategy parallels that of a game hunter. Here are a few of the similarities:

A successful hunter first studies his prey, its habits, routines, and weaknesses.

A hunter will camouflage himself so that he appears to be a natural part of the victim's immediate environment.

The hunter hides himself just outside of the victim's direct line of vision.

A hunter sets a trap and simply waits for his unsuspecting victim to walk into the ambush.

For over six thousand years, Satan has been successfully employing these exact same strategies to make trophies out of us. A large part of Satan's success is due to his mastery of camouflage.

No one would be shocked if I said that Satan works through people—that would be way too obvious. Let us not be naïve; Satan is not limited to only using people. He is very clever and very inventive in his strategies to sabotage our walk toward God. People are only one of the many façades behind which Satan hides. The focus of this book is on the other ways—the less-obvious, the seldom-recognized, and the never-imagined ways—that Satan camouflages his presence right in front of our eyes.

The examples given throughout this book come from my own life. Sharing our personal experiences with each other is the best means of disseminating practical information amongst the body of believers. All that I know today about Satan comes from years of fighting and resisting him. I have probably learned even more, however, from years of falling for his tricks over and over again. I will share examples of both in the following pages.

    Can Satan Be Stopped?

The Great Lie is that Satan is some cosmic superpower against whom humans are helpless—that we are no match for him. This simply is not true. The fact that we are not all Satan worshippers is proof that humans are not helpless against him. Just because something is supernatural does not make it super overwhelming. Satan, like God, is a supernatural entity whom humans can choose to either serve or reject. God gave humans dominion over this world; and there is nothing that exists here—physical or spiritual—over which we do not have authority. This includes authority over evil.

However, we have grown so spiritually lazy that we allow Satan to walk over us. We perceive him today, not as an abnormality, but as simply part of normal life. We dismiss him with a half-hearted roll of our eyes. We moan things all the time like, Just my luck…, As fate would have it…, If it wasn't for bad luck…, Oh well, that's life… We shake our heads and keep struggling uphill. Whatever…, It is what it is. Christians have slouched into a passive mentality of, not only tolerating, but of accepting evil as normal. We believe these are simply the facts of life on earth; therefore, we put up no resistance. Let us, however, get our facts straight:

FACT 1: Satan can be stopped if we want to stop him. Our passive behavior has simply allowed him to assume most of the power he wields today. To stop Satan, we simply need to reverse our passive behaviors.

FACT 2: Satan can be stopped because he has limitations. Most people do not know that Satan has limitations. Just as he learns our weaknesses to bring us down, so can we learn his weaknesses. To stop him, we simply need to use his limitations against him.

FACT 3: Satan can be stopped when we learn his methodology. This knowledge allows us to recognize camouflaged encounters that, at first, appear to be natural frustrations, but which are actually demonic ambushes in disguise. To stop Satan, we simply need to train ourselves to recognize an ambush when we see one.

Let us address each of these three facts in more depth.

    FACT 1

    We Have Been Passive

There are three passive behaviors that contribute to Satan's growing kingdom. To regain our authority, Christians simply need to reverse the following three passive behaviors.

    FIRST PASSIVE BEHAVIOR

    We Remain Silent

When I was a young girl, my older brother sexually molested me. Not once, not a few times, but many times—almost weekly—for four years. My mother knew what was going on in our house. My eleven-year-old vocabulary was neither polished nor subtle. When I cried about the disgusting things my brother was doing to my body, my descriptions were crude, raw, and blunt. My mother, however, was always more concerned about protecting her reputation than she was about protecting my innocence. Her response to my cries for help was to punish me!

I was literally punished for seventeen years. Mother kept me locked in the house, forbidden to interact with other children outside of school. Her priority was protecting her son's ugly secret regardless of how severely it damaged me or how permanently it reinforced his perversion.

As my brother grew older, he also grew more aggressive. His abuse began to incorporate physical violence. He would often wrestle me to the floor and then mount me and slam my head repeatedly on the hardwood floor until I became too dizzy to fight back. One of the ligaments in my right eye remains torn because I was never brought in for medical attention. My parents rewarded him with a set of power weights for Christmas.

My childhood was characterized by repeated abuse, isolation, and cover-up. Mother went so far as to tell our extended family that I was on drugs in order to explain my withdrawn behavior. It still amazes me how, despite my being on the honor roll, earning academic honors, and receiving college scholarships, my aunts and uncles could believe that I was on drugs.

At one point, Mother explained my acting out by telling people that I was mentally ill. She warned that I could not be trusted or believed. My extended family then began bullying me, believing that I was mentally ill. Mother knew that the only way to protect The Secret was to get out in front of it: discredit me before I told anyone the truth.

She and my older brother shared a very dark secret that had to be protected at all costs. Once I became too old to keep locked inside the house, the plot began to thicken. Mother had to deal squarely with the possibility that I might go outside of our immediate family and start talking about the things that went on in her house. So, she strategically got out in front of that threat too. She began an all out campaign of lying about me to turn our family against me. Isolated and ostracised from my family, I would lose all credibility with anyone who might have confronted her. She made sure that if I ever did start talking people would receive me with disdain and distrust.

I was eventually excluded from all family reunions and holiday gatherings. I was so abjectly disowned by my family that when my father died, no one called to tell me where or when his funeral was being held. A friend of mine literally went through the phone directory for me and called every funeral home in the entire area to find out where my father's body lay.

My brother meanwhile continued his rampage of sexual assault. I heard stories of girls he went on to molest and rape in high school. Mother, of course, never telephoned stories that discredited his reputation. You see, Mother and he had an unspoken agreement: I won't tell on you if you don't tell on me.

Satan is very much like a sexual predator. He is driven by cravings that are abnormal and perverted. Male, female, children—even animals—he does not care. He is always looking for another victim—any victim—to fuel his ejaculations. He is so consumed with the downfall of man that he cannot think of anything else.

He always molests the ones who cannot, or will not, fight back. Satan roams through the world prowling for easy targets. The less resistance he encounters, the more his perverted appetite consumes. And his appetite for our destruction is insatiable.

Just like my brother, Satan has gotten away scot-free all these years. And for the same reason—no one ever exposes him! Sexual abusers, domestic abusers, child abusers…they all capitalize on this one passive behavior of ours: silence. Satan's kingdom on earth is perpetuated by the same behavior that protects sexual perverts: we do not talk about him.

Mother used to threaten that we do not air our dirty laundry out in public. Exposing The Secret would make us look bad. Let me paraphrase her motto in a spiritual context: we will lose credibility with people if we talk about Satan. Satan grows stronger when Christians act out of this same line of thinking.

Satan is an abuser! He is a fondler and a molester who thrives under the protection of our silence. I cannot give a clearer, more graphic picture of who Satan is than that of a pedophile. And he continues his hunting expeditions today simply because no one confronts him.

Protecting ones reputation today is the priority for most people. Appearance is everything in our society. Saving face is a god to whom we routinely sacrifice the Truth. Satan and the perverted acts he commits fall into that category of dirty laundry that we all know exists, but are too well-respected in our social circles to talk about.

Whether we acknowledge it or not, we are now approaching the day of the Great Battle. We are even now standing on its threshold. We cannot afford to be caught with our pants down, bent over and defenseless. The reason my mother lived in constant drama and worked nonstop to stay one step ahead of my speaking out was because she feared being exposed. NEWSFLASH: Satan fears you for the same reason! And it is time that we stop protecting him with our silence!

    SECOND PASSIVE BEHAVIOR

    We Remain Ignorant

Our second passive behavior that contributes to Satan's growing kingdom is that we never educate ourselves about him. We live by the motto, See no evil, hear no evil, experience no evil. But that is a lie.

Ignorance is not bliss; it can actually be fatal. We perpetuate this cycle of ignorance by passing it down to our children and grandchildren. For example, we teach our children life survival skills: Do not talk to strangers. Wash your hands after you go to the bathroom. Look both ways before crossing the street. Never play with fire. But how many of us taught our children to call on Jesus whenever the Boogie Man is under the bed? We teach our children how to combat the germs, dangers, and threats of the world, but nothing about combating the evil that attacks them.

Each generation waters down the reality of Satan's existence a little more than the generation before it. The more ignorant we have become, the more powerless we have become. We are fast growing helpless to defend ourselves from the very real threat of Evil. If it were not for Hollywood—which we all know is fiction—we would never even think about Satan anymore! How ironic that Hollywood, of all places, is the last remaining place on earth where the truth about Satan is openly exposed.

    THIRD PASSIVE BEHAVIOR

    We Remain Afraid

Our third passive behavior that contributes to Satan's kingdom on earth is our cowering to Fear. Fear is a person. Just as the Holy Spirit is a Person, so is the unholy spirit named Fear. Just as the Holy Spirit whispers in our ear, so, too, does Fear. The job of the Holy Spirit is to help us grow. Fear's job is to make sure that we never outgrow our childish, fearful mentality and child-like helplessness.

Fear is very good at his job. He is the most creative public relations artist, press release spokesperson, and literary agent that anyone has ever employed. And he is employed by Satan. He has built a successful campaign over the centuries terrifying people with his innuendos, half-truths, and imaginative threats. He can spin evidence and twist truth in such a convincing way that Christians believe him. He can pull a rabbit out of a hat, drop a bombshell, and steal your thunder all with a mere mental suggestion. Fear is very good at his job. There are three primary threats that Fear uses to hold us hostage:

    THREAT: We Will Lose Friends

We fear that our friends might roll their eyes or that they may laugh at us. What if they think we are crazy? Fear constantly whispers that we should not speak candidly with our friends about spiritual matters, but rather, distrust their reaction. We are too insecure to risk losing our popularity with men by talking about you-know-who.

It amazes me how people who will not risk sharing their spiritual experiences have no boundaries at all when sharing on their cell phones. People today speak very revealingly—and loudly—on their cell phones in public. They are not embarrassed at all for complete strangers to overhear the intimate details of their sex life, their financial problems, and their personal diseases. They broadcast publically their personal business that should be kept private, but choke in front of friends on the spiritual experiences they should be sharing.

    THREAT: Satan Will Kill Us

A healthy fear of something that can kill us is a good thing. For example, I have a healthy fear of electricity. Because of this fear, I never poke an electrical socket with a metal fork. If, on the other hand, my fear of electricity was so out of proportion and unrealistic that I never turned on a light switch, my fear would no longer be healthy. It would actually impair my
