About this ebook

Satan is on a rampage; he has inundated our world with a multiplicity of dangerous lies and is convincing men to feast on them while rejecting Gods holy Word. However, even though Satans concocting these lies, man is not an innocent party to this deception; Satan may be spreading lies, but man entertains them of his own volition and perpetuates them. Man is electing to reject God and the doctrinal teachings of the Bible; he prefers to indulge teachings that ?agrantly contradict Scripture. Man is Satans accomplice; he is complicit and culpable because he disregards the Word of God and chooses lies over truth.
Average people have no clue theyre being deceived by a clever and diabolical spirit. Satans deception and cleverness are so astute that hes convinced many to believe the lie that he doesnt exist. However, he does exist, and the purpose of this book is to expose him, his lies, and his deceptions and to expose, refute, and combat the numerous deadly lies so prevalent in our world today that many have embraced.
Much in this book will be seen by many as controversial and politically incorrect, but this book is factual and biblically sound; it will equip you with knowledge and insights from the Word of God to prevent you from falling prey to Satans deceptions.
God loves you, Jesus died for you, and it is my prayer that you carefully consider and investigate everything in this book and make the crucial decision to believe God and His Word versus Satan and his lies.

    Acknowledgments

I acknowledge my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, for empowering me to write this book. I also thank my husband, James, for his patience as I labored to see this book come to fruition.

This book is dedicated to the Lord, of course, and to my children and family members, whom I love dearly.

    The Awakening

One of the most intriguing Bible stories I enjoy reading is that of Ester, a young Jewish girl selected from thousands of beauties to be the queen of Persia and the wife of King Artaxerxes around the fifth century BC. Not only was Ester selected by the king of Persia, but she was also selected by the King of Kings, God, to save Israel from annihilation. As the story goes, Haman, an Agagite and an enemy of the Jews, had concocted a plot to exterminate all the Jews, but God used this young Jewish girl to influence her husband to issue a decree to save the Jewish people.

Ester was at first reluctant to help her Jewish brethren until her cousin Mordecai motivated her to take action by asking her one probing question found in Ester 4:14: If you withhold your peace at this time, then deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place … and who knows whether you are come to the kingdom for such a time as this?

Upon hearing those thought-provoking words, Ester embarked on a campaign to help save the Jews from destruction. Those immortal words helped her realize she had been strategically placed in the palace at that particular time to prevent a tragic event—the complete annihilation of her people.

I enjoy this story because it helps me realize that God strategically places us to be His instruments to thwart the enemy’s plans in our lives and the lives of others. The powerful words spoken by this man of antiquity illustrate that a sovereign God chooses the time and places we live so He may use us to solve problems. It was not accidental that Ester was made queen at a time when an enemy of the Jews conspired to destroy them; it was the deliberate plan of God to derail their enemy’s efforts to exterminate them. Mordecai’s words enlightened and inspired Ester to act on behalf of all the Jewish people, and it resulted in their preservation.

Likewise, Mordecai’s words have inspired many throughout generations, and they have inspired me to pen this book, which I believe is appropriate for this time because there have been dramatic changes in the moral climate of our nation. Behavior that was unacceptable years ago has pretty much become the norm. As a culture, we seem to have adapted our long-held, traditional beliefs to accommodate many of these changing mores. This is a disturbing trend considering the fact that many of these traditions, such as our devotion to God and our Judeo-Christian values, are responsible for what made this nation great, but we are abandoning them.

Our nation is headed down a road to moral decay that will have a negative effect on generations to come. However, it’s not all doom and gloom; many of our youth have a deep fervor and hunger for God. They’re certainly much bolder than the baby boomers, who, I think, dropped the ball and remained inactive and silent as our culture gradually spiraled into its current secular state.

Such complacency in the twentieth-century church left a vacuum secularism filled. America is taking on a secular face in contrast to the face of the God-fearing nation it was, and its greatness is waning. Economically, we’re now a debtor nation when we were once the most prosperous country on earth. Our educational standing in the international community has dropped from first place to nearly last. Our crime rate is one of the highest in the industrialized world. There is much to be concerned about as we contemplate these changes and as this movement of secularism attempts to engulf our nation.

Is there a correlation between abandoning the principles found in God’s Word and societal disintegration? There is. No nation can forget God and prosper. The Bible itself makes this claim in Psalm 33:12: Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord. Proverbs 14:34 says, Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach [disgrace] to any nation. Since honoring God is the cornerstone that determines whether a nation falls from grace, we must ask ourselves if in America God is honored, revered, and recognized as head of our affairs. Do we seek His guidance, or are we charting our own course? Is morality and right living a priority in our nation? Are we drawing closer to God or further away from Him? Is Jesus Lord in America?

The answers to these questions determine how bright or how bleak our future is. If we’re able to answer in the affirmative, we’re headed in the right direction; God will certainly continue to bless and preserve America. If our answer is that we’re moving further from God, we’re headed in the wrong direction and need to turn this ship around pronto! We need to ask God for forgiveness and seek His face, guidance, and direction for this nation again. God is more than ready, willing, and able to restore this nation to greatness and to a favored relationship with Himself when we honor Him and renounce our sins. However, God is interested not only in nations; He is also interested in individuals.

Make the above questions personal, answer them for yourself, and assess where you are with God, because the same devastation that occurs to nations when they forsake God also occurs to individuals. We must assess our individual relationships with God and fervently seek Him.

I’m writing this book to see our nation and all people honor God and experience His awesome goodness. However, as long as our country remains on this path to secularism, God’s goodness will elude us. Secularists have made it their agenda to brainwash our youth and permeate every spectrum of our society with their liberal ideas and philosophy that are antithetical to the Bible. Their worldview idolizes humanism and man while denigrating religion, particularly Christianity.

Consequently, as our culture becomes more and more secular in nature, it departs from a biblical worldview and exposes us more and more to man’s perspective on every cultural issue, from abortion, to homosexuality, to marriage and divorce, to gender roles, and to rearing children. Our current views on these topics are contradictory to those in the Bible. However, being a nation that was born out of godly ideals that has prospered due to these ideals, shouldn’t we be asking ourselves what God’s perspective on these pressing issues is? Shouldn’t we adopt God’s, not man’s, policies on morality, abortion, homosexuality, marriage, and other cultural issues? God’s perspective on these issues is in the Bible, and they are in total contrast to man’s ideals. God is a higher authority than man, but that has never stopped man from trying to establish his own guidelines for living.

However, you, the individual, are at a crossroads because you must choose between these two opposing views; you’ll see things through the prism of man’s eyes or through the prism of God’s eyes. In this book, we will explore God’s unique perspective on these cultural issues so you gain insight into what God expects of you. Having God’s perspective is critical because our culture is saturated with secular humanism.

I know I’m about to shock some of you, but much of what we’re exposed to today is a cauldron of lies that originate from a source outside man. The secular ideas that permeate our society are nothing more than outright lies perpetrated upon man by God’s enemy, Satan, the master deceiver. This book is dedicated to exposing those lies and to shedding light on the truth found in God’s Word.

God has revealed His position quite candidly in the Bible. It’s up to us to incorporate these timeless truths into the fabric of our nation and to apply them to our lives if we desire to maintain the right relationship with God, flourish, and prosper once again as a people and a nation.

It is my goal to expose Satan and his blasphemous lies while presenting hard-core biblical truth to combat many of the deceptions currently sweeping through our world. God loves us and deeply desires that we reciprocate that love through adoration and obedience to Him. He desires that every man comes to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and that none perish in eternity. He desires that all men know and operate in His truth. My mission is to reveal these truths and to challenge you to engage in a rigorous examination of God’s Word versus man’s and then to make an informed choice rather than blindly accepting what’s popular or politically correct today.

If you’re a nonbeliever, my mission is to provoke you to make a life-altering decision to come to Christ. Hebrews 3:15 says, Today, if you hear My voice, harden not your heart (NIV 1984). God’s Word says that today is the day of salvation, the day for you to make that decision because tomorrow is not promised to anyone. Death is a certainty, and procrastination is a tool of Satan’s to keep many from coming to Christ.

As you read this book, hear the voice of God as He urges you closer to Him, and commit yourself to following and obeying Him no matter the cost or risk. Once you’ve consecrated your life and set yourself apart for God’s usage, you will set out on an extraordinary journey guided by God that will lead you to heaven.

If you’re a believer, my goal is to inspire you to be more outspoken about your Christian faith and beliefs. People around are perishing, and we can’t afford to be a silent majority. We must proclaim God’s truths to the world no matter how brutal the opposition. We must be just as vocal about God’s truths as Satan is regarding his lies because souls are at stake, and we possess the only thing that can save them, the gospel of Jesus Christ. Let’s get busy and put the enemy into flight by combating his lies with God’s immutable, unalterable Word and truth!

I hold a ministerial license from an accredited seminary. I have been studying God’s Word for over thirty years, and I feel God has given me great insights into it. My primary credential is the embodiment of the Holy Spirit, who guides us to the truths and wisdom of God. He is the sole authority on God’s Word, and this book was written by His inspiration, so I believe the precepts in this book are theologically sound and biblically correct.

My fervent prayer is that men open their eyes to the glorious truths God has given us and understand that these truths are to promote the good of mankind and join us to our heavenly Father. It is my prayer that all men experience the abundant life Christ gives us, a life filled with God’s blessings and power. God is the only source of this life, and every lie of Satan is designed to divert you from the life and plans God has for you. As you read this book, open your heart and mind to receive revelations from God that will put you on the path to real life!

    Setting the Stage

Every generation has witnessed phenomenal events, and ours is no exception. There are numerous optimistic signs of our times; our technological and social advances outdistance those of our predecessors by a wide margin; computers, satellites, and cell phones facilitate our everyday living and can be controlled by a single touch. In science, there are ongoing studies and exploration in genetic engineering, biometric identification, and nanotechnology, to name just a few. Unparalleled medical advances are increasing life expectancy well into old age. Socially and culturally, we’re advancing as well as we attempt to address racial prejudices and learn to celebrate cultural differences. It’s undeniable that these are times of great accomplishments for man.

However, no matter how encouraging these signs are, there are discouraging signs and events occurring parallel to these awesome advances. The world is at a greater risk today for a nuclear holocaust than ever before. Access to sensitive data via computers and cell phones leaves us more vulnerable to those who wish to do us harm. We are more like prisoners to these mechanized objects because we’ve become dependent upon them for our everyday lives.

Additionally, as we make advances in science and medicine, we seem to neglect the ethical issues accompanying these advances. Drug companies conceal known risk factors of new medications and manufacture them for profit anyway. Medicines and drugs are placed on the market and then suddenly recalled after severe side effects—including death—emerge from their use. Manufacturers push out defective products knowing they can cause harm. Doctors dispense unnecessary prescriptions and perform unnecessary surgeries, all for profit rather than medical necessity.

Many negative social issues are spiraling out of control. We are all aware of the erosion of moral decency, the rise of crime and violence, the rise in sex and marriage scandals, the rise in teen sexting, alcohol, and drug abuse, and a rise in general dispassion and indifference toward our fellow man, all of which can be supported by startling statistics. However, as egregious as all these social ills are, another widespread disturbing trend is plaguing our generation—a total irreverence and disrespect for everything pertaining to the God of the Bible. This irreverence has developed into a movement that attacks traditional values, God, and religion, especially Christianity.

    The Nature of the Attacks

Have you noticed this all-out attack on Christianity? In our postmodern society, virtually every venue, including movies, entertainment, and the media, has declared war on religion in general and Christianity in particular. As we observe the culture around us, it’s blatantly obvious that the Christian religion has become the object of mockery and ridicule. It’s common in our culture to profane and debase the name of Jesus; mock Christians and the church; and sacrilegiously defile Christian symbols, holidays, and even the house and church of God, none of which is being done to any other religion.

To add insult to injury, many who participate in these activities also label Christians as dangerous and destructive and claim they’re a threat to this nation. Yet these same people ignore real threats to our society such as the radical Islamic terrorists who’re bombing and killing many innocent people throughout the world and who are truly a dangerous faction. A misguided segment of our society harbors hostility toward Christians and the Christian worldview. Most are liberal secularists driven by a desire to defame and discredit Christianity and to destroy everything it represents. This defamation is a blatant form of irreverence for everything pertaining to God, and thus it has evolved into a cultural war. On the one side, you have those who endorse the Christian worldview, and on the other, you have those who endorse a secular worldview.

There’s nothing wrong with these two groups having different worldviews; after all, everyone is entitled to his or her beliefs. However, those who adhere to a secular worldview have resorted to demonizing Christians and Christianity—this is the problem. Today, Christians tend to be labeled as narrow-minded, right-wing, Bible-thumping, uneducated bumpkins, and this name calling has evolved into more insidious behavior. Christians and conservatives—those who hold to traditional values—are maliciously classified as divisive homophobes and intolerant hate mongers because they take a biblical stand on homosexuality, abortion, and premarital sex. The biblical position on these issues is diametrically opposed to secularists’ ideals. Thus, secularists make it their objective to denigrate Christians and conservatives.

Such attacks on Christians are common when secularists can’t come up with substantive arguments and give up on constructive, civil dialogue. To marginalize Christians and Christianity, they resort to ad hominem attacks. Are these attacks legitimate? Have Christians become a radical hate group that poses dangers to society as the left claims? No.

Secularists and those on the left project this false image of Christians to undermine Christianity and all it represents and to portray Christians as a bunch of weird loons in an attempt to eradicate Christianity and its influence. Their preference is to dismantle traditional, biblical values and replace them with secular beliefs and trends. With each attempt to discredit Christianity, these mean-spirited attacks appear to be escalating. However, the attacks launched against Christians are perplexing because secularists accuse Christians of engaging in behavior the Bible denounces.

First, secularists label Christians as haters because, according to them, it is hateful to condemn homosexuality, abortion—any immoral behavior. Christians do condemn all immorality (the Bible calls it sin), but the label of a hater is a blatantly false perception projected on those who believe and uphold the Bible. When secularists label Christians as haters, they’re implying that Christians have no compassion, empathy, or love for others and that they despise those who engage in immoral behavior.

Well, this may be how they portray us; however, nothing could be further from the truth. If we’re haters, then Christ is a hater, or Mother Theresa was a hater because they too spoke out against sin. To identify a behavior as sin is not an act of hate; it is to declare a certain behavior as sinful and attach the same label and description to it God does. Christians are only messengers. They’re not out here advocating their own position but God’s; they’re not espousing their own personal opinions but merely conveying what the Bible teaches about these issues.

As we Christians communicate the truth that God hates sin, we do so in a spirit of love and compassion for those who indulge in it; none of this is done out of spite, hate, or lack of empathy.

Every Christian is a former sinner God saved by His grace; every Christian is a person who’s been delivered out of some sinful habit—some even out of homosexuality or pornography or any other sin imaginable. Many of us have family members who are held in bondage to such sinful practices. It’s ludicrous to think that Christians would hate those who practice sins they themselves or those in their families have committed. To the contrary, they prefer to be candid and honest with people because they love them enough to tell them the truth even if it means they will despise Christians or mischaracterize them as haters.

As Christ’s followers, we’re commanded to love others in spite of their choices. We’re commanded to exhibit the same attitude of love toward all men as Christ did. We must remember that Christ loves the sinner but hates the sin and that love expresses truth even when truth is not popular or well received. People generally react very strongly to truth because it is not always palatable and can cause people to make hard decisions they would prefer to avoid. In seeking some comfort level, many people prefer to hear lies rather than the truth that could produce discomfort and require tough decisions. I’d rather have someone tell me the truth and let me deal with the pain rather than have someone lie to me and permit me to be self-deceived and harmed.

In this book, I’m being honest and truthful with you; you may agonize over much of what’s presented here, but it’s done out of godly love. In the Bible, God condemns every form of immorality, including homosexuality, abortion, gossip, premarital sex, adultery, lying, etc., and Christians take God’s position on these sinful, immoral practices. If that makes us haters, we are in good company because we are on God’s side of these issues.

More hate is espoused by those who resort to these demeaning tactics than by Christians who’re the targets of these vicious attacks. However, casting aspersions gets us nowhere; both sides should try to be civil when addressing these issues. Christians must treat everybody with love and respect, even those who disagree with them. How are Christians different if they engage in the same vitriol as do secularists?

On the other hand, secularists must realize that no one should be labeled a hater because he or she disagrees with someone else or points out sinful behavior. Civil discourse is a route both parties must pursue.

Not only are Christians labeled haters, but perplexingly enough, secularists also accuse them of being intolerant. Webster’s dictionary states that tolerance means to respect another’s view without sharing them. However, we must define the world’s view of tolerance because theirs is inconsistent with the word’s meaning. Tolerance to them means we should violate our beliefs to accommodate theirs and we should compromise our convictions so they align with theirs. They want Christians to forget about Christian dogmas, disregard the Word of God, and ignore their consciences and accept as normal things God says are abnormal.

Their definition of tolerance makes this demand: Agree with me or I will disparage and malign you. It demands, Accept our views and reject your own. However, because Christians refuse to comply with these demands, the left brands them as intolerant. Fortunately, Christians are unyielding in their submission to such demands and refuse to cede any ground to their opponents on these issues because Christians have their own view of tolerance.

The Bible’s view of tolerance is that we give people the latitude to make their own choices, and we respect their views without sharing them. Sure, many make the claim today that Christians foist their views on others; but this claim is inaccurate. We Christians don’t impose our views on others; we allow people to make their own choices. As noticed, there’s no Bible police to arrest anyone for disagreeing with the biblical worldview. There are no actions taken to coerce anyone to embrace Christian values. We respectfully disagree with secularists’ views but we acknowledge their right to maintain these views. However, our society is predicated on a biblical worldview and has incorporated biblical doctrine into its framework, thus we have these polarizing conflicts occurring over these cultural issues. But even if society adopted more-secular values, do not expect any belief to be accepted as valid by the Christian community if it contradicts the Word of God. Others have a right to their choices, but Christians have a right to voice opposition to those choices and to lobby against practices contrary to biblical doctrine.

I can hear someone saying, That’s good, but when Christians denounce homosexuality and abortion, they’re being very judgmental, and Jesus said judge not. Many people misinterpret Christ’s words in
