    Prologue

It was said by a wise man that a book about one’s self is, and I’m paraphrasing, not really that interesting! Unless something extraordinary has happened to where it would garner interest, then it probably has already been done.

That led me to think about what it is I really want to write about and why. Then suddenly—nothing. No flashes of brilliance; no divine inspiration, thunder, and lightning—just me and silence. So life is calling me—ready to go, and so I leave.

I didn’t think about this again until almost three in the morning! God revealed what He had already told me on previous occasions and at the WOW (Wide Open Worship) Conference (an annual event sponsored by Antioch COGIC): you are an encourager. That’s when it hit me! Write this book to encourage! Now some of this will be Holy Ghost inspired! Some of it will be Phil talking, and I am not a doctor. (Although I could play one on TV!) All of it is from the heart with love!

    Acknowledgments

At this point, I would like to thank my wife, Trosekia Guest, who inspires me and loves me with no strings attached! That’s why I dedicate this book to her.

I thank my present pastor, Jonathan E. Logan, who gave me the unction to follow through and bring this book into existence!

I thank my mother and father, Theodore and Louise—former pastor and first lady—for bringing me into the world and raising me up in church, which provided me with a true foundation that continued to stay strong even at times when I was shaky and sometimes downright rebellious. (I’m talking leaf shaky y’all—that’s from my Alabama and South Carolina roots! Shole is! But I digress. LOL.)

I want to thank my children for giving me life experiences, grandchildren, and, most importantly, love!

To my sisters who, at this present time, have provided me only nephews (who are loving and wonderful in their own unique way) and who love their brother—and we can laugh until our sides split or until I pass out! Or both!

Lastly, I want to thank the rest of my family, friends, and all those
