About this ebook

Because of the difficult places in which we find ourselves, we sometimes become ashamed, embarrassed or too frightened to talk about the problem. We tend to withdraw or put on the Sunday face and act as if we are fine. I call this "the closet experience." Out of this experience this book is written to help anyone to realize that it is not good to keep those things pondering in your heart, but to seek help. Life has become so difficult. We all face problems, but seldom are we taught to solve them--to speak of relationships that take us to another level. It is difficult enough to have to suffer through rough times, but to have to line in what I call "a closet experience" in isolation can be traumatic even to the strongest person.

However, though no one wants to admit that they have a problem, I will quote the words of my pastor years ago: "The only way you don't have a problem in a relationship, you must be blind, deaf, or speechless." I concur! Prayerfully, after reading this book, you will see how you can survive through relationship experiences and help you to know that you are not alone.

    Tangled in the Web

Life is full of bumps and snares as we journey through life. As you observe the life of a spider as it does the webbing, you can see that when it runs into a bump that gets in its way, it uses that bump—most likely as an object that can be for substance—to help it get closer to its destiny, or it can be a barrier to keep it from moving forward.

The spider sucks out what is useable from the insects that get caught in the web, and when it is done with that, it weaves another road in a different direction to continue on its journey; therefore we see the webbing. That bump only caused a delay.

So as it is with life, it is like a spider web. You think you are moving the right direction, but then you run into a snare, but God has the power to get us loose and send us on our way because God is with you even when you are tied up in bad situations.

So is life’s journey for all of us; when we run into a snare, we have an anchor that keeps the soul, and it’s steadfast and unmovable and sure. When we encounter bumps or better still, situations that come to hinder the process on our journey, we also either allow them to frustrate us to the point of no return, or it will charge us to push forward with more determination to continue to fight a little harder to win the victory.

Our start on life’s journey is purposeful; however, it is not always easy or always a straight path to get to where we are headed. There are many inconsistencies and distractions, as one will surely encounter, which makes it harder to move closer to your destination. As you start on life’s journey, you may have one focus in mind, one destination in mind: that you hope and plan for life, and somehow, in the midst, you end up at a dead-end street.

Therefore you have to recalculate and sometimes head in a totally different direction. Unfortunately all of the circumstances will cause you to decide if you want to continue or just throw up your hands and quit. However, there is an old saying, and I quote, winners don’t quit, and quitters don’t win. So it may seem as if you are at an impasse, but your situation will cause you to move forward if you really want what you are aiming for.

God never told us that life would be easy, but he did promise that he is our present help and that he will never leave us or forsake us. These are two verbs that we need to keep in mind as we go from day to day. To leave means he won’t walk away, and to forsake means to abandon. We know that God will never do those two things to us.

Although sometimes it’s hard to remember the Scriptures when you are faced with a bump in the road, especially when you had in mind that what you chose for life is the right decision; you have prayed about it and thought you heard from God. But now nothing is working the way you planned. What do you do? Ask the Savior to help! What do you do when the relationship that you thought God put together is falling apart? For example: I can’t imagine anyone going in a relationship with a mindset that it won’t last, at least I hope not.

If or when you encounter a tough point in life and you make the decision to continue on the journey of your choice and it’s still not working, it may be that you have to weave in a different direction to get to where you are going, because your aim is to get
