    Charles Breitweiser literally died from a serious automobile accident in 1979, as a 17 year old high school senior. The emergency paramedics were able to get his heart started, but after a 6 month coma, he was left with the loss of the use in his left arm and leg, and damaged eyesight. As with any type of debilitating injury, it was accompanied with the demons of depression, fear, inferiority, and self -loathing. By the mercy of God almighty, and years of soul searching and growth, he developed a philosophy of endurance, and positive attitude by learning to disregard his losses and embrace his gains.

    Mr. Breitweiser began doing motivational speaking for handicapped support groups, and started a non-profit corporation Hooked On Fishing Not On Drugs New Jersey developing fishing programs in every school district in New Jersey as a means of drug prevention. Drawing on his own personal experiences, he teaches people ways to disregard their losses and build on their strengths. He is a member of the New Jersey Poetry Society and had a poem published in their anthology in 2003. He won Editor’s Choice award from the International library of Poetry. November 2005.
